I should have taken pictures today, We had the quick hitch off my Terex 860 and replaced the bushes in the dipper end, My mate came round with the gas bottles heated the bushes up an out they came then new ones in job done in at 20 Mins It's amazing how much difference the new bushes make, Next job is the rear wheel hose guards which are falling apart new ones are being made at the moment.

well I've not gotten a lot done this week ..... or had much in the way of zeds ... Pam still proper poorly most of the week ..
took her back to the GP's Thursday, after a couple of ruff nites and they binned off the statins immediately .. agreed they weren't worth the side effects she was suffering and tested for the infection again which seems to have been knocked on the head - how ever - the combination of the side effects and the probable influence the infection'd likely had on her body (and mind) have have given her (and me) a bloody hard week ... still not right, but very slooowly improving -- really thought she'd lost the plot mid week -- had gone from a sane, intelligent woman, to an almost gibbering wreck/fruit loop, intermittently :oops: we're both looking forward to her full recovery (and a decent night's sleep) !!
would not believe the effects some thing so relatively simple could have on a person!!
frightening really - Pam (and I ) thought she was losing her mind ... Wednesday was a very tough day :(

Vicki's put a lot of time in this week and Josh came home from Plymouth last night to see her and how she is.
He's given me a bit of a break today and have had a couple of hours piddling about, but not gotten much done really - couldn't concentrate properly on it and then got p*ssed on, which was NOT forecast - so gave up.
Pam is improving quietly, but very up/down - could take a little while :censored:

I'd gotten the cat head attached last week after some careful setting up (which I don't seem to have piccies of :confused:)

and some ribbing to stiffen things up some more

was in the middle of creatingsome curved bits Monday, when Pam decided she was unwell and needed to go to the quack's .. had had the block splitter and a Vee block set up to curve them with (makes a good little press brake) and'd had to wrap up PDQ ...
got them tacked on this afters and had made some pin guide bosses and tacked on too

had just rolled it all over and was contemplating the next bits, when it started to spit ...

so that'll be it for a while .. Josh'll be off home to Plymouth in the morning and Pam'll need my full attention for a while yet , 'til she's made a full recovery (y)

thanks 6 feet .... us too ... 's been quite an alarming episode TBH .... almost like early onset dementia - with a bang !!!
quite weird and apparently not as uncommon as you'd think with some UTIs :oops: .. add in the statin side effects AND the 'cold turkey' from an instant stop and she's having a rough time of it :(:(

I once had some indeterminate virus in my early 40s and have never forgotten awaking in the middle of the night, soaked in sweat from some hallucinatory 'dream' (I was being chased down a street by a 'bus stop' sign :oops:) and distinctly recall thinking to myself " OMG - I am losing my mind " .. never forgotten the experience - frightening!!
never did get a diagnosis of the cause, but was 'kin rough for a week :(

been watching some on ebay for months at 80 quid and waiting for 'em to drop ;) (couldn't justify that [to myself] for the use it'll get really, but) ...
weren't gonna get any cheaper :rolleyes:
WP_20241014_14_03_48_Pro.jpg

will report when I get a chance to try it
(a) when Pam's 'better'
and
(b) when it stops lashing down ...
weather's been shite (apart from one day last week which was glorious, but !! - bit occupied, with 'the boss' ).:(
Forecasting 20C here for later in the week - will believe it when I see it -- hopefully'll be able to get some bench time soon :giggle:

How did you guess ? was practicing and what do you know it was gone, been at it for every weekend with Topper. Ordered the insulated roller door and that to be installed within the next couple of weeks. Didn't put in any roof lights only clear light in the sides. All I need now is the fudging electrician.....................................................................................................................................................................................................

would've thought a man of your Kalyber could deal with a bit of leccy spaghetti ..:unsure:
is the roller a slatted or segmented job? assume the latter being insulated?

It has been two an' a bit very long weeks in Chateau Druid ...
Pam has been very up/down ..
broad spectrum anti,s did sort of work for a while and then went downhill again .. managed to get her a GP appointment of choice early this morning ..
they'd had some results back (some time back it would seem - WTF no one followed up on them is very annoying )
now has infection specific jobbies - two weeks-worth  which the GP assures us will 'nail' it this time ..
first one wiped her out this morning and has been asleep in bed most of the day (which she desperately needed), so told her to ring me if she wanted anything, stuck me blue tooth headphones on and went out to pressure wash the cars of all the crud they've collected from the sh1t state road up to us
two motors later and it had to be done ..... ... whilst I had it out
stretched the hose out some more, ran a lead out for the pressure washer and gave the 'Drema a long overdue wash
could've really done with hauling her out and stretching her right out, but got 90% of it .... still scrubs up well -- she was minging - covered in green crap that seems to have coated everything this year

WP_20241023_17_48_36_Pro.jpg
WP_20241023_17_48_44_Pro.jpg

and gave lil' Jake a quick blow over too ..... a lot less effort than his big sister ... will run 'em both up tomorrow, warm 'em up and grease everything 🤞🤞
then I might get some time this week to get back to me bench if progress on the Pam front continues as forecast
nice to have a relatively normal missus back this evening TBH ....
you would not believe how head shot this infection has made her, unless you've experienced it :(:unsure:
and I'm really hoping for a night's sleep tonight

been a while since I've been in here -- she's getting better - quietly  ..
not been able to do a lot though...

Clara had her 9th B/day on the 17th
WP_20241117_15_21_51_Pro.jpg

Granny managed to produce a cake as required -- choccy sponge, in choccy ganache, covered in pic 'n mix ....
she's growing up fast

managed to have a day out with Russ on the 20th (well 5hrs anyway ) down at Pontrilas doing a few tricky lifts, installing a drive system onto a log sorting rack - tight was not the word - bunch of Geordie lads and a couple of Poles .. a good craic was had
WP_20241120_13_49_09_Pro.jpg WP_20241120_09_34_37_Pro.jpg WP_20241120_09_33_16_Pro.jpg
WP_20241120_09_33_02_Pro.jpg

they then assembled the rest of the sorting racks and we returned yesterday to place the other end onto the rack system ... Russ'd already got a hot tub booked in Zooport first thing so was a relatively civilised start for me ..
rang me at 10.00 when he was leaving there and met him down at Pontrilas at 11.00 -- rolled in together, as he passed me at Llangiwa whilst waiting to get out onto the main road - perfect timing :giggle:
WP_20241129_13_37_06_Pro.jpg WP_20241129_13_36_01_Pro.jpg WP_20241129_13_36_28_Pro.jpg WP_20241129_13_36_23_Pro.jpg WP_20241129_13_37_34_Pro.jpg

both lumps, each end took some crafty slinging to get the damned things level for the lifts and this end took some swinging in through the doorway, as it was sat outside - no where to put it inside, this time, to get a hold of it, 'fore we went in
WP_20241129_13_37_02_Pro.jpg
WP_20241129_13_36_53_Pro.jpg

big old shed .... 'til you try and do anything inside it
WP_20241129_14_41_00_Pro.jpg

think there's a few more bits to go in there yet
was home eating me lunch by three o'clock:giggle::cool:

feeling VERY mortal this morning...

friend, a year or so older than me, fit, active, always busy on something, went into his house for a cuppa Monday afternoon.
His missus turned round, put the kettle on, turned back to talk to Dave and he'd gone - head back on the chair - deceased!:cry:
Son got him down on the floor - tried to revive him with CPR, paramedics arrived and tried, air ambulance team did the same - GONE !!

Always said he wanted to go with his boots on, either in his workshop or at home  ... bit ****in' soon though :(
