You think a saw like that could be stopped dead with a device like in that video?!
using DC injection, I'd be worried about snapping the motor spindle TBH, with the kinetic in the blade ..... you'd want a progressive braking system, like the VFDs can provide ..... dead stop'd be emergencies only

right gentlemen ...... I am in need of your collective knowledge/experience .... maybe best guesses.:giggle:

tripped over this pic today ...... ;)

throttle control jpg.jpg

this is the valve that controls the 'Drema's throttle .. this ain't mine but is identical off another Hydrema.:)

I have five levels of 'volume ' ..... Idle 1000rpm, standby 1400 rpm, low 1800 rpm, medium 2000 rpm and high 2300 rpm, all button controlled.
she auto idles after 10 seconds inactivity and I pre-select what 'volume ' I need on start up (y) (or at any time I like after that) ;)
if you can't make it out on the pic:( ..top pipe is labelled L and the port below it is labelled P
I'm guessing the 'goldy' coloured bit next to L is a solenoid and there're 4 wires going into the other bit from the multi plug ... as far as I recall and can see here

Anyone ever seen one of these before, or got any ideas how it works ????.... it basically varies the stroke of what must be a cylinder which pushes the throttle cable and opens the injector pump up to give it the beans :giggle:

I surmise that P bleeds pressure as required, from the LS line, when it senses a demand for 'action'
(I'll have to see if I can see WTF it comes from on mine), which is in no where near as convenient a position, to examine (tucked down/under/beside the Deutz's sump), as this one is - hence grabbing the pic .... ;)
but quite how much travel to give the throttle must be determined by those wires, which presumably are the four separate switches on the dash - SB, L, M & H
also guessing the 'goldy' coloured item is responsible for dumping said pressure for auto idle to occur ??
Some kind of proportional stepper solenoid perhaps?:confused:

If this ever goes wrong it's gonna get a cable - end of, but would be nice to know HTF it works and whether anyone has any idea WTF this 'valve' is called ???
plus of course how it functions :unsure:

Game on fellas ....... :giggle::giggle:

Dont really have a clue but would it not make more sense if pressurised is idle taking a supply off the return to tank or pump to block otherwise each line would need to have a pressure sensor
Also some machines of that age rev up when the engine starts and quickly die off i presume as pressure is reached in the auto idle circuit

Just my thoughts though

she doesn't rev on start up Smiffy ? .... can see where you're coming from though .....
I'll have to trace the pipework and see what comes from where ....
'sposed to be drier tomorrow, so'll get the bonnet up and have a shufty ....

only really thought about this today, after finding yon pic, but'd be nice to know how it does work ... another piece in the jigsaw, that is 'Drema ownership :giggle::giggle:
need to know this sh1t, with no fall back, when things get squiffy :giggle:

also be nice to know just WTF that valve is called ??:confused:

rudely awoken at 7.30 by me phone this morning .... me drug delivery driver lost  one day we'll have someone turn up who's actually been here before !!

so a slightly earlier start than usual (I am retired, after all :giggle::p) ....When it had stopped precipitating, 'bout 10.30, had a lil' project to sort.
Clara's birthday Saturday coming, and we've not got her until Friday afternoon this week - unusually, so had some time to get this together for her.

WP_20181113_13_18_34_Pro.jpg

had considered making one, but couldn't for the price of this .... and having the dry time to do it.
pretty good kit, but yer average Joe'd struggle getting it together, especially with some of the issues encountered and some pretty crap 'destructions' to follow

hopefully it'll have the desired effect, when she next arrives ......

She loves the swings at the play area, next to her nursery school, down in the village .... one of her own ought to go down a storm - we hope:rolleyes:
The baby seat's for little Shem, who'll be here, from Plymouth, this weekend, for her birthday, but have a.n.other std seat for when he's grown a bit:);)

Gonna have to bungee him to the glider though, for now :LOL: ... super glue might be a bit drastic :giggle::giggle:

spent a few hours after, collecting bloody leaves and bits of tree, after all the bloody rain and winds, these last few days  ........ forgot to pop the bonnet on't 'Drema for a hose suss though :( ......Manyana ;)

The 4 wires come from what must be a large potentiometer, haven't a clue what one would be called.

had a very similar response from another guy on the P&C forum Scoff ;) .....
"My guess is four magnetic reed switches embedded in it connected to the four way connector. Each spaced down the travel. A dash switch determines which reed switch is active and the solenoid valve advances the piston until that particular switch is activated. "
Both make a lot of sense (y)

side 1 of #2 gate ........ when Squeak arrived with a gift .....

WP_20181114_15_35_34_Pro.jpg

his way of telling me it was time for his tea ... his body clock is completely shot with the clocks going back an hour:)

just about got side 2 done before the light gave out and had to turn the flood lights on ...... God knows what it'll look like in the daylight .... good job it's only HBZP primer ;)

Both gates in a box, in the dry .... reckon it'll be frosty tonight :(... my feet were bloody frozen, by the time I'd finished, but at least the wind that'd been drying the primer on the brush and trying to take my ears off, all afternoon had dropped (y)

A decision on a colour has been made ....... sort of  ..... provisionally, at least  .... we'll see :cautious: ... might change yet, :cautious: but at least they'm now primed, (y) so the possible 'Hammerite' choice, that was being mooted, has had it :) ... won't take on top of primer ;)

Another Province here in Canada is doing away with daylight savings nobody see's any point in it anymore, me included. Looks like he brought a snack. lol

Just tried to log in to BCEF to see if its still 'there' and my computer security stopped a virus from uploading itself. Should we have a funeral for our old place?

Just looked at the CEF site and my old girl doesn't have any issues, nothing flagged as a problem ......other than some of the features ain't working :rolleyes: nothing new there :(
there're actually a few new threads / posts

Oooo, I like that @V8Druid , looks quite well built for a kit? Where did you get it from?
Cheers, C.

four things to remember .....
1 - the M10 bolt issue with the 16mm AF heads that don't capture ... need to replace them
2 - the child seat I already had ... came with two std seats as pic ... think I may have had the toddler seat from the same folks a while ago and are very helpful people
3 - when assembling the legs, don't push them all the way in as one (the first one) will go 'all the way' and then t'other is stuck out about 3" further than the first .... put them in 'til the first is just showing, measure the protrusion and then put the second one in the same amount;)
4 - from experience of the swings down at her play group ;) ... the instructions say gap the pivot points the same width as the seats ... big mistake spread them wider to keep them swinging in a straight line, or they go off at all angles if the ropes are hanging parallel .... if you look at my pix you'll see what i mean. The professionally assembled swings in the local kids park are parallel and go in all directions

pretty good kit though for the money ;)(y)

Dad and me made our swing for my wee one outa a couple of scaffold tubes ,and put the legs on a wee flag each to stop it disappearing into the garden. Our one could spent hours on it😁😁
(If you can't make it outa scrap, it's not worth making!!)

I was considering something like a 300 square slab under each leg .. and may well yet do it, but for now they seem to be sitting quite well and've not sunk barely at all  ..... other than settling in to their profiles. ....... see what they're like after a bit of use ;)
