...me spleen was not happy and I have learnt when not to push my luck .... dashed in, to be met by the washing m/c coming at me ... further progress hampered, by the pipes tethering the bugger to the wall grabbed and wrestled it back into spot, fighting the duvet trying to escape through the side of said washer!! ... on full spin FFS .... didn't help the bodily state, one bit ....... really put the tin hat on doing a lot Tuesday .... squeak got cursed ... he's the cause of said duvet being in there, having 'dismantled' a large mouse on the bed, at some point in time in the day which Pam found at bedtime ) and had been tasked with finishing off Pam's 'pumpkin creation' for Clara, which wasn't the most strenuous of tasks . LOL ..... Kids !! ..... came last year as 'a cat' ..... gate is still where I left it .... might go take a look at it later .... whether anything gets done with it is another question ... still not right this morning

...... if only to protect the currently raised drainage channels .... got two more steps to stone face and back-fill, plus all the wall facing to get in place first, even if it's only in the step area !! .... Me stone man still hasn't put in an appearance and I'm pissed off with chasing the bugger. ..... Did about a square metre plus a while ago when SWMBO wanted it looking like dry stone, so real tight joints .. changed her mind now and she wants mortared joints .... I'm told it's an easier proposition, but anything as abstract as stone work is not an easy proposition, to my straight and level, engineers eye .... really struggle to get my head around it ..... I'd never laid a 9" hollow in me life, 'til I did the retaining wall. ..... but kept me sane ... my mind occupied and off the health issues at the time
you're obviously not aware Fred, that the front of that wall is set to get a 9" stone facing to it
... I've got most of the stone sat here ready, hopefully enough to do it all, but getting a mason to come do it has been a nightmare . but as I said to him, "FFS tell me when and how much sand / cement you want, so I can get a pallet/truckful delivered ready" .... it sure as **** won't be arriving in dumpies and a few bags at a time, from the local rip off (builders) merchants. until everything required, has been addressed, as you've no chance of getting them back, once departed.
.... may yet have to make a MkII version ..... I can handle it no prob.s .... SWMBO, isn't quite as adept ...... yet !! ... has it ever been a tad blowy here today !! and had none of its little foibles/glitches i'd been getting the last few times I've run her up ... Auto idle was intermittent for a good hour or so 'til she'd warmed up .. but not every time .. electro-hydraulic, with a very expensive ribbon/roller cable connection to the throttle body on the Deutz. Can't recal what they're called ..... but they're bloody pricey and fairly techy construction ... used to use them a lot on Mobile cranes. ..... no sooner we were out of bed and they'd settled down for some serious R&R ..... having cooked their furry bums, directly in front of it for half an hour !!
..... and so did the mix ... get it like butter, lay it out tidy and get 'em on right first time ... they'm like bloody sponges ... again, the mix is all important ..... reckon it wants to be a fairly dry consistency, for support ? ....... we'll see
