Thought I took a pic. Basically a square peg on top of the cap 27mm. I couldn't get a spanner or strap on it due to it's proximity to all the pipework. Took a file to the corners once I got it off and spanner fitted ok
With a cross head shape on the inside of it? Sounds similar to afew jcb ones I’ve seen, but on them I’ve always been able to get an adjustable onto them.
One of these is handy too 😉

Good idea think that would have worked 💪 apart from the fact my plumbing box was in the house.

Yes they have the cross in the middle, I think I was praying at some point!

You want some of these.

Not cheap but will save the day for things like that and are also great for hydraulic pipes etc on site.

I picked up one from toolstation last week to keep in the cab, solid enough!

Cheap 1 or Bacho?
One of these, seems comparable to my bacho adjustables.

The wide jaw ones are light weight only though used on tops of tanks etc in plumbing not for heavy duty work

Can’t beat the bahco nut rounders got the full set

Not a patch on the rothenburg I’m afraid. Don’t open out so far and a much sloppier mechanism. And a silly chunky handle, that’s not what you need when your in the thick of it.

Honestly, I’ve tried all the cheapies. It’s like knipex vs a screwfix special for circlip pliers.

To be honest they aren’t too bad by comparison.. for a Sunday morning pickup to get me out the crap when I needed them I won’t complain!
Agreed on the circlip, I have cheapo ones for random angles etc but my ‘best’ ones are facom which are a different class!

Had the black bahco years, red one toolstation special - no obvious difference really. Tested the red one on a 1”bsp fitting with a bar on it - still in one piece 😆
