Here’s a big question, what does everyone do with the old oil?
I take mine to the local council tip, but sometimes I have far too much to take, as they only really like 20L at a time.if I service everything at once I’m soon up to 200L!!

Is there anywhere else around us @Mogman that you can take it too?

Put it in a barrel and pay for collection... it's cheaper than dicking around trying to save a few quid 20l at a time!

Find someone with an oil burning workshop heater!! They’ll rip your arm off in the winter👍🏻

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
there was a time when recyclers would pay you for it ... admittedly not a lot, but they'd come and 'suck' it up out of barrels and you might get a few quid a barrel ... last time I had a guy come was when i cleared my yard and had 6 barrels full - told them they could have it for free, but he insisted on paying a little for it to create a paper trail  ... penny a litre IIRC and gave it back to him as a 'tip' for doing the job ;):giggle:

Rain so did service on EZ26. Hydraulic filter cap has a factory supplied spanner that didn't fit ffs.
Couldn't get a spanner or strap on it luckily managed to tap it free. Had to round off the square peg corners for the spanner to fit, plus wrong type oil supplied so had to go and change that. Very frustrating day

What does the filter cap look like out of interest? Seen some strange ones over the years, but nothing you couldn’t get a strap or big filter pliers around?

it’s a hateful c1nt of a thing without the proper tool, we just tapped ours free aswell. Just make sure it’s tightened up properly, has to be really tight. We thought it was fine but it leaked. We reckoned we had an oil leak, turned out it just needed another half turn, which could only be got with the special tool

I did the same when I realised the sump plug was over the track and moved it! Don't ask! Lesson learnt the hard way

Thought I took a pic. Basically a square peg on top of the cap 27mm. I couldn't get a spanner or strap on it due to it's proximity to all the pipework. Took a file to the corners once I got it off and spanner fitted ok
