Oil and filters done today and new wipers on the van. Can't believe how easy the wipers were, then found a puncture in tyre from our industrial estate again 😡
Yep you know where you are with doing yer own stuff (y)
Always carry one of those sticky string repair kits in the truck to get me out of trouble. Then a proper mushroom repair if it's possible the next day or so ;)
On Sharon's car last year the main stealer found a nail in the tyre and wanted me to authorise a replacement Nexus crappy tyre, when they deemed it to be in the unrepairable zone :(
WTF on a 1 year old Toyota - no thanks, I'll get an original spec tyre from my friend's tyre place. He even repaired the 1 year old tyre for me :)

I have a cheapy set in the truck. Only 10 quid off Amazon.
Better quality strings are available but considerably more expensive and only available in big packs with a use by date.
The set I have

The good gear the tyre firms use

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Rover V8 the same ... NEVER drop the sump and filter together .. drop sump and refill PDQ, then filter off and fill filter before screwing back on ... pump will not self prime

Should I?
not really 'the done thing' but those pads are (a) gonna take a bollocking and (b) that'll be your braking surface 'til the pads get worn to the shape of the discs - possibly - really depends on the new pads and whether they're exactly the same 'coverage' of the disc - if they're any bigger it might be a problem and aftermarket stuff varies widely

was a bit tongue in cheek TBH :giggle:
