Masks are like a DPF for your face. You need one to go into low emissions zones
If they were really the answer they would insist on a standard of mask to be worn (FFP2/3) not some old pyjamas that your nan has recycled into a funky coloured face covering. The gaps round the edges let 90% of your breath out without being filtered in any way. And whilst it captures your spit/ snot sneezes, its not like you would wear one whilst cutting concrete to protect yourself from silica dust - so why would they stop a microscopic virus!

Strange how at work, likely less deadly environment than the covid filled shops,you need to be clean shaven n face fit for a mask yet a deadly virus,you don't?

Mask wearing seems to me to be more about fear and control as well of the weirdos who think they are somehow superior to other people if they wear one in situations it is not mandated.
There certainly is no common sense in the current rules. I've stayed a couple of nights in a hotel this week with a door through to a pub. Signs saying you must wear masks in hotel corridors where you don't normally meet anyone or if you do you are just passing, but as soon as you are through the door into the pub no need to wear a mask, but spending time in close proximity to others.

I just wear one in busy areas- went into Trago the other day- not another soul in the department I was in so I thought f**k this took it off and enjoyed taking my time browsing instead, I just wear a buff so easy to pull up if going into busy areas- mainly just to appease the mask mob. Personally I can't stand it when people come too near me anyway- and that's not a COVID thing.

I'm in same boat ,absolute minimum.
Been on trains today, underground etc. Like last year again. Can't believe difference a month or so makes Absolutely everyone with a mask again now. I stood out like a sore thumb when mine slipped down

To me it seems more like masks are a security blanket as the government are worried that people might swerve the shops And not spend money

The irony is they have potential to be a false sense of security. I sometimes use a chainsaw with out chainsaw tousers- I'm bloody careful about what I'm doing as a result. Take away the masks and then people may not be so keen to brush shoulders with you- distancing has to he the most surefire way of stopping a spread surely?

I got thrown out of Travis the other day for not having a mask
Made me sit in the truck whilst they sorted all the paperwork.
As if it was some kind of punishment.
Was a thousand times better than a normal visit there

gives you a 1:700,000 chance of succumbing to it
Wales' figures were zero in over 2.5 mil.

Item on one hospital's ICU last night, on the box ..
11 in ICU with covid, but that was not why they were in there - doctor's words ... all for other life threatening issues !!

the 1:700k is from all causes LL .......
until they start publishing TRUE, ACCURATE figures for ACTUAL cause of death they are all totally ****ing meaningless and as Rory said pretty much the 'norm' anyway ...

the longer this sh1t goes on, the more obvious it becomes, that this is all about CONTROL and generally instilling fear amongst a populous that, on the whole, are unable to make their own decisions, or sort and assimilate information that would enable them to do so.
The other thing that becomes ever more evident, as it drags on, is the extent to which we have been and are being, lied to
