have also been considering one of their little motorised 4WD barrow things for some time ...
our legs don't get any younger by the week ....
little dolly to stand on behind it'd make life a lot easier up/down the drive ...
Ross reckoned it'd cope with one OK ...
anyone (aside from Ross) had any experience with these at all?

that is a VERY KIND offer boyo .. thank you :cool: .... do you have a 4" flight for it ? .... will try and get the post remnants, out of the hole in the concrete, as suggested, first...
not sure as Lil' Jake'll run it though, as I don't think the breaker line is reversible ....
have looked to see if I can spot a single/double acting valve and couldn't see one, even with the foot plate off ....

Do you know Ollie? @Gunners
It doesn't have a double acting aux but I have also heard as others have said on here than you can easily make it double acting using the original value block. I was going to look into it but never found the time as usual

I haven’t had personal experience with the lumag mini dumper but I’ve only ever heard good things about them. Having the engine the right way up is a good start I don’t understand how other manufacturers thought it would be a good idea to use an engine with a vertical crank and a twisty belt for drive.

I bought one about a year ago. Paid a bit extra to have a Honda engine fitted. It's OK, but build quality definitely not that great. Wants to tip over if going even slightly down hill with load on. Probably carries about 3 wheel barrow loads. I wish I had bought a second hand track barrow of a decent quality make.

This picture might help you in your quest to fit double acting auxillary.

thank you ... makes a lot of sense ..#3, I presume, is an on/off valve to close the second side of the service off from/to tank and in single acting mode it just dumps to tank ? .. know what I'm looking for now (y)
When I did mine I thought of doing this to save on a long pipe run but decided against it. The reason being having three lines down the arm with one being direct to tank gives the facility to use hydraulic motor with a case drain if required.
can see your reasoning in the additional line too Rob ... gives a direct to tank drain for motors if the m/c is not originally set up as double acting and the block is plugged as you said  ... seems odd that the block should be an M20 fitting though?

Sun's out and quietly coming around onto me patch ..... couple of can you justs to attend to and let the sun get up a bit higher and onto me patch .... then I'll go take a look ......... once i get Lil Jake started and out from his hidey hole ... starts fine with a charged battery ... I just shouldn't have left it so long between start ups :(

by " tip over " I assume you mean tip forward/endo ?
having considered tracks, I've ruled it out on speed and ground chewing ... think wheels're gonna be more suited to what we'd use it for - I hope
what's it like on the 'wanting to get away from you' stakes, downhill?
I presume it has some form of braking?

Yes it wants to tip forwards/endo going down hill loaded. It doesn't run away from you down hill, I think it has 3 speeds, and 1st gear is pretty low, and it holds itself back OK. It does get along pretty quickly in top gear. It's not a bad bit of kit, but not quite as useful as I was hoping, is quite wide, and doesn't really have a quality feel about it.

thanks Dave .... presumably you have to hang on the handle bars to keep it from endo-ing?
just thinking it'd make life easier for the 'distant' bits we have to do ..... bloody long push with a barrow  ... some of it at least ... and'd hold a hell of a lot more too (y) .... just need to convince 'the boss' it'd make life easier :giggle:

Yeah the tap closes the route to tank off basically creating a double acting line.

Im down at Uskmouth on Tuesday so not a million miles from you. I might have time to call in and have a look and see if it’s the same as mine if that’s convenient?
I can’t promise as I am not sure quite what I’m walking into on site until I see it 😀😀😀
well it's a damned good job we hadn't arranged anything for today @Rob65 ...
had a massive reaction to me hamster juice yesterday morning ..
first in a long time, but spleen and pancreas went ballistic ..
thought I was in for a.n.other dose of pancreatitis ...
rolling round the bloody floor for an hour or two, waiting for the tramadol cocktail to kick in ...
even got the oramorph out in case it didn't ....
but eventually got it to a tolerable level ..
and been clock watching all night for the next dose time.:(
good job I have a reasonable 'stock' ...
gonna take a day or two to get on top of I think ..
Not quite off my face, but pretty close :rolleyes:

I've got a proper mucktruck max (very local to me) good bit of kit but hard to build a pile with it. Ideal for long distance as top gear is quite brisk. Got a platform for mine aa well but never use it. If you ever come Devon way you're welcome to try it. I'm looking to upgrade to a track barrow as easy enough to put a board down for turning.
