HE had some Liugong 20t machines a while back. We had one turn up on hire rather than the Komatsu we were expecting. It was okay, but nothing like as nice as a new Komatsu and and a few niggly little things like the auxilairy circuit pressurising every time you tracked, you wouldn't expect from a machine with less than 100h on. I was talking to the driver who collected it and he was saying there had been a lot of complaints as people were expecting a Komatsu and got a Luigong instead, but were charged the same hire rate for an inferior machine.
People always complain about stuff like that, always wanting top quality for the cheapest price, weather it’s machines or the work your pricing for. The fact that some of the top demo contractors have taken them says it all really, if any machine is going to be worked in extremely harsh environments it’s with the demolition contractors and quarry’s.
What you seem to be forgetting is that, the same was said about, Hyundai, Doosan and Kobelco machines when they first came into the UK, and look at them now, 3 very respectable brands in all sizes. You buy cheap, you sell cheap, think I’d rather take one of those than something that was home grown so to speak.
