surely the same as if it were outside the Eu .... seeing as it will essentially be the rest of the world again next year????
yeP, full shipping documents needed to zero vat.. plus import / export duty potential. For us its transport company’s / lorry firms moving asset to Europe where we will struggle. Are the ports setup now or we will see tailbacks at Dover for miles and miles as suggested...

If you don’t mind me asking @Regy53 , do you sell much kit in the uk or is most of it exported?

Oh well sell loads to the uk , but I would say 60% is currently exported. It’s possible we would sell more to the uk but the export guys are to fast .

If we do fall out without a deal used prices will plummet I think , not now but in Jan/ Feb... in the interim it will be flat out exporting machines. Our best month ever was March 2019 as people panicked there was a barrier about to go up at Dover

That's the product of a weak pound. If we stop splashing out on new machines due to import tarrifs then maybe the used prices will hold steady.

Either that or this time next year we'll all be using JCBs

Yep, from 2014 to 2016 we exported zero but then the uk economy was booming , we diddnt need to as we sold to the guys who were flat out, infact I was actually importing machines from Europe.
In the recession of 08 there were used dealers with machines in their yard owing them 50k, watching the same machine go over the line at euros for 25k, only 18 months later the same machine was worth 60k

if supply is low as it currently is then who knows, it’s a battle finding good stock that we are known for.

It might be the case that Europe trade will dip but it might be the case that new markets open up 🤠

A lot of things will rise in price though. Most of what I import will now be subject to duty and a lot of extra paperwork and charges. I recon we'll have to have a 10% price rise across the board.

Is that 10% extra margin to cover costs or the value of the item will increase 10% as in sterling will drop 10%?

10% extra margin to cover costs and duty. Let's not even think about GBP dropping........

Ordered some rubber mounts for the old wacker plate from the UK
4 mounts = £80
Postage = £30

When they arrived in France DHL wouldn't deliver them till they had received an additional 43€ in taxes

Got an email of the company asking if there was anything else I wanted 👍🤔

ferked the job Brexit

Way more expensive in France I'd wager.... as the cheese eating surrender monkeys tax everything so much! Brexit just an excuse for them to get the tax they add on otherwise.
