Don't know what to expect mpg wise out of new truck ? and I guess the on-board computer is over egging it but I reset it before job im on and it is saying I've averaged 20l per 100km admittedly its only been jobbing the smaller kit about but still, I reckon the iveco 7.5t was averaging 15/16 mpg ... will do some real world mpg sometime.

Certainly does... what lump is in the daf ?
This is a 2014 merc 1829 ... weight 9t empty with skip on.
If it makes you feel any better..a firm I know reckons they get 50l per 100km out of there old 19t renault with hiab on

I`d say that`s about right, or slightly over optimistic.
My Daf @16t unladen this week has said (on the dash) 11.4 mpg/24.8l/100km, that`s been distance light loads, and minimal PTO/crane work.
Using the PTO really knocks the fuel figures on the dash.

For what it brings to our job (literally) im happy with that .....I expected it to be much worse than the 7.5t so it's a win win.

It's 360 I think, 15.5T unladden. Nipping across to Peterhead with her tomorrow 2hrs each way only 2hrs onsite expensive day out but job has to be done somehow

It`s an LF you`ve got? If so the temp sensor is behind the mirror backing, with its plug inside the door or dash (I can`t remember properly) but it needs the door card removing what ever, it`s easier to cut and joint the wires behind the mirror cover with heat shrink crimps. you can/could get the sensors for about £15 aftermarket.

Yes its an lf, is it passenger side or drivers side out of curiosity rather than want of doing it

On my LF`s they have been on the passenger side, but they are LHD sweepers, so might be on the drivers side on a RHD

There is some disconnected wires on the left hand side but I assumed it was for heated mirror as the mirror looks to have been swapped at some point

We were saying that on the way home that a hilux pulling 3.5t won't do a lot better ..... mate just changed to a new ranger and he says it's much better.

Yeah my new environmentally friendly 3.5t truck uses almost as much as my 18 year old 18t grab lorry does.

My old hated range rover is better than both but apparently owning a range rover I'm killing whales every 10 miles

My new Hilux drinks fuel and adblue like you wouldn’t believe…
I towed my E27 on a 12 foot Ifor tipper 700 miles in 2 days on motorways and it used £500 of fuel and all of its adblue - apparently it was doing 12mpg! It went back into Toyota as I’m certain that’s not right and they reckon it’s all fine - not sure if they did anything but I’ve had 17mpg since towing similar loads (so not brilliant, but a lot better than it was!).
