If it was a daf, you'd get the infamous b'ding b'ding abs truck warning.

I still like the idea of a roll on roll off but then I discovered the other day my ramps are a nice angle onto the back of the grab but would mean lifting the door on and off everytime
Change the doors to the swing rd opening type roll ons have do they call them barn doors

It's more me been lazy. Dave made the back door easy to lift on/off. He ran bigger kit than me and utilised that lorry more than me. I just use it as a grab and for lifting micro over walls/or quick dig out, stone up jobs. Where there's few ton muck and I can still fit digger on back. (This is where I'd like class 1 and be able to do full loads and mini on trailer)

Other day I rested my 4m ramps on tailgate while moving stuff around and looked back at it and realised how nice an angle they were. Only issue with transporting a bigger digger on my lorry is I'd have to disconnect the grab and fold the crane up.

Having q/C's on the grab is useful anyway. Not something you use everyday but defo worth having. Especially if you ever get a timber grab or block grab.
But having a hook available obviously increases your lift capacity and lift height. Most grabs I've used seem to struggle to put a bulk bags against the headboard as the bucket gets in the way.

Mines an old atlas crane without sensors but you need to sling them short to stack them on head board.

I've a brick grab for it too but leaving the space between bags to grab them again looses out on any benefits gained

barn door it
Problem there is when your tipping in tight spaces, which I predominantly do, the extra 6in of door stuck out on each side makes all the difference. As well as if you've to swing the doors open before you back in then you end up with a load of material on the floor in the wrong place.

For the occasional time I may put the ramps up it's not worth the compromise of changing it from a top hinge door to barn doors. And with it been a grab its not like I'll never have anything to lift it on or off with.

Several round here that the top right hand hing is two way the the second hinge either fits in the bottom right hand or the top left hand. Makes it a 2 min job. Or you tailgate has barn doors built in to it so depending on which catch you undo changes how the tailgate opens

but wouldn't be able to put a machine up ramps with barn doors built into a drop/lift tail

If they designed correctly you can. The bottom edge where the ramps sit either has to be supported or thin enough the ramps bridge it and the load is distributed on the body floor.

Whats going on here then ?

Replaced the coolant sensor in the truck and it immediately came up fluid level low, i dont know how they work but they are not sealed and sat into the coolant fluid but rather in a dry housing ... ...if I pull the sensor up out of its housing a couple of cm the warning goes out 🤔 although If I disconnect the sensor from the plug it says "restricted use" any ideas apart from leave it sat up a bit 🤔

Is it a magnetic op switch that passes down through a floating magnet or something, and that magnet is stuck up in the housing ?
Beyond me :)

only about 2.5t ...they get a lot of flack for having no payload but towed much safer than the pickup/landy alternative and you could put digger on a trailer and dumper in skip, reality is you run about overweight most of the time, was happy with 5t in skip.
That's what I was expecting in terms of pay load. 👍
