I didn’t realise you worked with Rory!Ps V8druid. Thanks for your patience. I know what its like working with idiots
I dont know Rory but I am sure he is smarter than me.I didn’t realise you worked with Rory!
couple of days and you could haveBut I dont have a re stable fuse. Just the test lamp
did you try them one at a time to eliminate each?Right. Tank lifter pump and small silver top fuel pumps disconnected but I have a clicking on and off like an indicator noise coming from the pump area of the engine when I connect the lamp again and it's still flashing
Sorry what exactly is the stop solenoid and where would I find it ?couple of days and you could have... could just leave it on a pair of leads for test purposes for now too
did you try them one at a time to eliminate each?
which pump?
wonder if the stop solenoid has gone to earth or exploded .... try removing it and disconnecting it
it's an electrically operated engine stop device .....Sorry what exactly is the stop solenoid and where would I find it ?
lacking specific detailed knowledge of a subject, does not make one an idiot Boyo ..... you could be a brilliant mathematician / doctor / surgeonPs V8druid. Thanks for your patience. I know what its like working with idiots
nope none of those was just a dumb ass fireman in London for 30 yearslacking specific detailed knowledge of a subject, does not make one an idiot Boyo ..... you could be a brilliant mathematician / doctor / surgeon![]()
And i appreciate every minute you spare me.it's an electrically operated engine stop device .....
instead of an old skool pull cable ...
turns the engine off at the key, instead of having to expend huge mounts of energy and thought on actually pulling a cable to stop the motor, before turning off the ignition key
and are notoriously a PITFA ..... it'll be on the injector pump and have maybe two/three wires to it @Mick-the-fitter will almost certainly be familiar with your m/c ... I'm just chucking generic responses at you for non-specific motors/machines in the hope that we'll hit the target..... distant diagnoses of electrical issues is notoriously difficult, at the best of times

Resettable fuses?did consider this the other night ..... long term though is it worth the investment ,although not astronomic .. once sorted?![]()
If you mean the cable to the bus rail on the glow plugs I have already tried that.Disconnect your glow plug cable. Don’t give up now, you’ve got to be closer than you were.
Pretty sure that's fuel pressure switch/sensor.Disconnected this plug and the clicking has stopped but I still have an illuminated bulb on the tester across the 40A fuse
Yes it is and I have tried that. Thanks.Pretty sure that's fuel pressure switch/sensor.
This is the glow plug bus bar. I guess the cable is at the other end!

What about the relay end of the same cable? It’s not unknown for the Insulation on that cable to crack due to heatYes it is and I have tried that. Thanks.
