The problem with the FIT and other schemes is you need a registered or approved installer and you pay over the odds for them to do the word making any benefits of the system less appealing

know what you mean ... that website Fred put up looked interesting for 'kits', but dare say if you know where to look, the components aren't too dear, just getting ripped off for a bit of labour and the paperwork

not sure where you get that from but its not true. The owner has full control. There are tariffs whereby they give it you cheaper 24x7 in return for borrowing your powerwall instead of timeshifting.

You are probably getting confused with the schemes where you get one cheap and operate it as part of the grid.

no point having an MCS approved installer now as there isnt any FIT who were the only ones who wanted the paperwork.

The kits we install now have a 'micro' inverter on each panel, they are attached to the back of each panel. at the end oif the daisy chain you end up with a single 240v feed to the fuse box. Nothing can be plugged in the wrong way or location as the connectors wont let you.

Makes it very easy to grow the panels in the future as you simply daisy chain more.

For you guys that have a small budget and are handy with a box of tools have a look on the local on line selling markets.

There's only one thing you've got wrong there, if you're tank is boosted to 70 through night it's beyond where the efficiency is for solar top up. Most of the energy is used in the first 30 deg of temp rise this is where you find the best efficiency gains.

During the summer, the immersion heater rarely gets a daytime boost from solar because the 'stat doesn't cut in.
But it's there if we have hoards of grandchildren invading us and having long hot showers
But what we often do when exporting surplus to the grid, on most sunny days, is heat up the old hot tub.
It only has a small 2kW heater and it's nice to know that we are getting it heated for 'free'
Fortunately, SWMBO does not want to use the hot tub in the winter

if you mean more expensive than the old system of a standalone inverter then surprisingly its cheaper! The kit also comes with an internet box so you can monitor the individual panels. They have loads of brands of panels as well, some are better than others but if you have room using the cheap ones with an extra panel more than offsets the difference performance between panels.

This is the problem state owned and capitalism both don't work, the balance would be the 2 but never seems to happen.
Welsh water are not for profit guess they are labour heavy but at least the money in theory should go back into the infrastructure

But our entire social system from top to bottom is overwhelmed with entitled lazy twats. I think we have gone past the tipping point. We are on a downward spiral and won't stop until we got the bottom
