Not had a chance to use my 8026 yet, which is still sat on the trailer waiting for a fitter, turns out when it left the factory someone couldn't be arsed to sort out the belly plate pan so there is currently two bolts missing on one side which the welded nuts are cross threaded as the protection plate sits over the holes just enough to stop the bolts going in square and a third on the other side was half way in.
Which I only discovered as was hydraulic oil on the trailer bed, which I'm assuming is residual from when the hitch pipework was done, which no one also bothered to check the sight gauge as its empty.
Plus on top of that there is also the odd spot of surface rust on bits

This is why Im holding to my prediction that the new defender will be the most reliable yet..

New defender will probably be ok, mostly because it's now too expensive for its core market so won't be subjected to the kind of work the old one was, so will mostly see urban school runs and possibly the odd caravan

My thoughts exactly...that whole Appleby shite is an utter joke. And trail of theft and crap on the way and way home is unreal.
All paid for by the taxpayer.
The more you find out about it the more your blood boils. Cousin lives about half a mile from one of their "stopping places" had his house ransacked and all Stihl kit nicked and women's handbags...🤷

Brought back memories of the doosan

Fitter has been today needed around 5mm taking off the side of the bolt holes and rethreaded the two borked ones and ran the though the others to check.

All being well should be good to go, for stuff lined up for it next week but in the meantime planning on tinting the windows and today made a mat out of an off cut of artificial grass, thought it might be easier than having to pull the thick rubber mat but was an absolute pain in the backside to do and isn't 100% perfect, so will see if it's worthwhile keeping or not

Bloody hell, at least on a Bobcat you don't have to look like you're trying to suck your own knob just to adjust the cab temperature!
I've not seen any other vents anywhere so assuming that it's just that one location, which from previous experience dries the skin out on the calves as I like to where shorts near enough all year round

Wants thrown out.
To be fair I'm 50/50 with it, I like to be able to pull the floor mats out every now and again but the jcb one is very thick in places plus seems glued to floor in front of the door. The other 2.5t machines i've been in have all had the mat fairly easy to pull out
