Yep, those ultrasharp screens are nice.

Install the latest Firefox or Chrome (pick ya poison) on both machines. Sigh up for Firefox sync or sign into/create a Google account respectively on the old machine. Sync it with the cloud, then sign into your new computer and it'll pull down all your bookmarks and saved passwords.

Did you buy that copy of office I suggested?
Firefox👌 been a fan for years...ok uses a bit of grunt but you not selling your soul to Google..

have used Chrome since I had to switch to it years ago and have always gotten on OK with it .. just didn't sign up for all the sh1t that kept popping up ... and that all stopped when they stopped supporting XP :giggle: FF is new to me, but was getting me into websites that the unsupported chrome wasn't letting me access ;)

this new beast is going to take me a very long time to get my head around ...... already not a fan of how it 'wakes up' on its own at 07:32 .... which is when I sat down at it the first morning after setting it up ..... it knows too much already !!!! and wants to talk to Microsoft every five minutes 🤬

Use OneDrive to copy your files. Pop them in on one machine, let em upload and they will then appear on the other!

yea one drive is great, it somehow syncs all my file on the office desktop, both laptops and can even access them from my phone! Its great
We use it at work. We set our my documents location to be our OneDrive folder so anything on our laptops gets synced.

Alec Steele is back in the UK and just bought a lathe.

For some reason, I think Druid would have been as excited as he is taking delivery, back in the day!

Wonder what hes up to. Hardly seems worth it to build a 2nd workshop for a few weeks out of the year!

A local lad to me his first workshop was about 5 mins from my house in a little back street off a industrial estate. Then he moved to just outside fakenham near a old raf base and that is where his workshop is now.

His content is decent, but hes a bit of a wind up doll himself, I wish he would tone it down. Too much Blue Peter as a kid I think. Some good videos on power hammers!

Someone like you could probably do nicely from it as well if you shared your projects and machinery/knowledge in videos. Theres a real interest in experienced people sharing their wisdom ;)
