I'd start with a camera, and then something like OpenShot which is a Adobe Premiere clone but free. Using that you can chop up your video and drag the bits round. It's not *hard* - I can show you how if you wanted to film something.

got a couple of DSLRs that do vid IIRC ........ but they won't fit in my pocket ...... me ixus 60 does but can't even recall where that is ... that wasn't a bad vid out o' that

A lot of the trick for you will be getting the camera back far enough to get the project in shot, while getting your audio when you explain what you're doing. So you'd likely want a wireless mic pack to start off with, along with a decent tripod. This assumes your DSLR's have external audio input - otherwise you'll need an external audio recorder also. Syncing up audio then becomes an issue (though the likes of Premiere have tools which help this).

Both look pretty good Druid. The trick is just to keep dumping out good projects on a regular basis I think. Once you hit 10k subscribers I think you can monetize the channel and you start making some decent cash.

We get cheeky fcukers in past us wanting to lift stuff out the skip and act like they are doing us a favour by taking stuff from the skip, I'm not saying there is huge value in scrap metal but there is value. Be sure to offer to pay, you might get stuff FOC just don't go expecting.

My local steel stockholder has all the offcuts on one side in racking. Take your pick then it’s weighed/booked out. I do their plumbing work and buy lots of my plumbing gear from their stores across the road so they don’t bother about odd bits here and there

sadly the press is no longer mine .... but did sell it locally, so have access to it as and when ..... made it many years ago and has pushed some stuff in it's time and was a great bracket bender with a vee block and knife edge fitted

no mate .... just a wire feed on the end of a 600A Transmig with long umbilicals was a bloody nice unit .. had it new when the old one went west

sorry LL thought you meant it was a Hobart Hefty .. MIG from a genny .... great tool ... wire feed run straight off the genny outputs ... just plug the electrode lead into the Hobart ... gas connection and you're MIG-ing ... anywhere .......... haven't used mine in a while

not cheap but a fab bit of kit ...... saved me some time welding on sites ... makes stick look sick
