I heard of a guy that that happened to, but it jammed the rear wheel and spat him off down a motorway.
her pannier was sort of distributing it quietly apparently :giggle: had worn a hole in the back of it and was plucking stuff out piece meal along with more bits of pannier 'til there weren't a lot left .. only reason they noticed eventually was that when Rod got off the seat (and the throw-over strap) his full pannier dragged the now empty and backless one off the seat :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Never ridden with a pillion, especially not my missus - she soils herself when I hit 71mph in her Aygo on the motorway!

Does the passenger have to lean with you on a bike? Can’t see me ever trying it to be honest (makes trips away with the lads easier too to be fair 😂 🤫)

Photo of my beloved below for anyone interested. Looks after me, does everything I ask. Never complains. 650cc AL7. Sorry if I thought I was talking about the missus 😂
had one GF who regularly fell asleep on the back if we were going far ..... missed half of one trip down through France .... fast asleep between tankfuls :ROFLMAO:

Passenger should just be with the bike, not lean but just be consistently quiet body wise.
For me anyhow

awesome photo, any recommendations for European bike trips? So far only done UK stuff and Zagreb to Dubrovnik
thanks Stu .... it's probably one of my favorites ... don't have many of me in front of a lens .... been all over France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, bits of italy and a little bit of Spain.
France is probably my favorite and if my body'd not let me down i'd probably have been living there by now. Was the master plan ... Most of Europe's great for biking Boyo ... they have a different attitude to two wheels over there. ... and if you want to see it stay off the Peages and Autobahns ... and bimble along unless you're going somewhere.
have done the med coast of France end to end both ways a few times and love it ... ditto the French/italian alps .. could spend weeks in the mountains ... there're lots of alpine vid.s on you tube to give you a serious taster

France is beautiful. Spent 2 weeks there practically every year as a kid.

I've been once with H and enjoyed it, might have gone this year had it not been for CV19!

Thanks for the replies guys, France is definitely high on my list once the Covid situation has calmed down!
Battlefields trip is a nice one - go from Dover to Calais, then head on up the Somme to Belgium and finish at Ypres. Come back via dunkirk :) Lots to see.

keep the boss happy and get the dumpy out of sight (hers!!) 😄 before getting some time in a box cleaning yon lathe .... there's swarf everywhere!
tool post needed some attention as was pretty manky and stiff ....
WP_20201204_13_50_12_Pro.jpg

long time since i've had one of these apart .. working a lot more smoothly than it was (y) Finished the day off digging out about 200kgs of swarf out of the coolant sump, letting it stand to drain before removing it to a scrap bin and generally having more of a tidy up/lube-sesh .

Apparently Saturday's job was sort one of these ..
WP_20201205_12_55_08_Pro.jpg

and install in the house so's the boss could get her bit done .... got top marks for my choice from the village shop :giggle:(y) one happy SWMBO ...
whilst I'd been out acquiring said bushy thing, Pam'd been sorting out the decor in anticipation of its imminent arrival and had found yet another set of lights she'd forgotten about ... you guessed it .. the set she'd omitted from the flower bed with Clara's 'little reindeer family' inhabiting it .. so guess what I did after said tree installation in the house 😌

half seven had started out VERY white here ... and I thought we were in for a fair dump, the way it was coming down, but it'd all burgered off by noon 🥳 ... was not keen on a white carpet for the weekend

Serge called round after lunch to pick up the TV i'd picked up for him and a cuppa or two ..... had his missus with him who we've not seen in a while so was a poly-tunnel afternoon ... and after ten minutes sat in the bloody cold I went and dragged a super ser out of me tool box ..... three bars soon had it a damned sight more tolerable 😁 if not very comfortable (y) .... was close to dark by the time they'd left and not able to do a lot more yesterday.

this morning was another early start in anticipation of Reo turning up (said he'd be here - and if he says he will be - he is) been a very decent day today, in comparison to the last few, cool, but absolutely still, so nothing taking your ears off ... quite a tidy temp. for getting things done ... mid twenties'd 've been nicer ..... but it was dry :giggle:

eventually found me chassis plug yesterday for the Harrison, so spent a bit of time persuading that into place

and dropped a neutral line in for 'ron' .... gonna need it for a work light, when I run a cable up into the back of the lathe to feed it ... got a couple here suitable. ;)
Also scored on the belt sizes ..... should be five on there ... currently down to three ... but at least I now have a size :giggle:

and ordered 20 l of extreme pressure industrial gear oil ISO 100EP to recharge the head and screw cutting box ... can't even see it in the head or the head's pump feed/output tube .... just gotta find out the volume that's 'sposed to be in there ?

Reo continues his progress down the lower length ...

and has reached the corner this evening ... return to do and then I think he's going to work his way back up grouting/pointing the top flags .... been a queer couple of days weather wise .... extremely dank and not good drying weather at all ... to the point he was almost questioning the mix, but it is going off slowly, just zero 'air'' / breeze and very cold with it

spent a couple of hours repairing this and straightening it up ...

can't recall when we first lit the Morso this year, but the wood shed is quietly becoming a little more accessible ....

can actually get a couple of feet inside the door now :ROFLMAO:
lashing down with wet stuff here tonight .. not forecast at all ... good job the wall's well covered

half the day consumed with hopefully the last shop for this year, after a 7.45 start with Clara's arrival, before getting taken to school ... an early 'hit' on the town is deffo the way to do it .... place was mostly deserted and splitting the task, halves the time spent 'exposed' ....... might just gete some 'me time' tomorrow.... 'til 3 o'clock at least  ... and the school run!

Is that not the oil level sight glass?

It does look rather high if it is but It should have a sight glass for the oil level somewhere.
