Tuesday started clear and cool ........ moon was still out when the day kicked off
WP_20201201_07_45_54_Pro.jpg

followed by Reo's arrival shortly after, after a wet Monday rained him off .... he did manage to get some done on the Tuesday ..
WP_20201202_08_10_16_Pro.jpg

and again had a decent-ish day on Wednesday ... so moved down ever further ..

my plans for a couple of hours looking at the new acquisition, were short lived yesterday .... The Boss had other ideas .... Christmas lights time ... ready for Clara this afternoon !! ..... which involves the inevitable excursion into the attic to start with. ... a task in itself ...we have a decent enough roof space, considering half of our first floor is half in the roof anyway ... but it's just a bit full ... has a hatch at each end of the length which are a decent enough size, but no way can you fit a loft ladder in, so it's a fetch a ladder in from outside job ... got a little ex GPO wooden triple 5 footer, which is perfect to (a) get in the house and (b) gain access with ... but it has to be maneuvered into the house first and it's just the wrong weight to be 'easy' !
anyway .. decor found and hatches battened down again ... I have an external power supply set up on the patio for where they are normally required .... and I say 'normally' .... there were new plans afoot, that I wasn't privy to ..... 'til this point ..... Pam wanted some in the usual place and others elsewhere !! :( .... new power source required :cry:o_O
so an hour or so later, much lead juggling and re-making, with some waterproof fittings (I fortunately had 'in stock' -- for a rainy day ) and i'd got a new leccy supply lashed in for the duration .... behind this tree

WP_20201203_10_49_55_Pro.jpg

which i have to say makes for a decent enough looking crimbo tree, suitably adorned (another hour's effort wrapping three sets of twinkly things round it) !!
WP_20201202_19_09_11_Pro.jpg

WP_20201203_22_15_06_Pro.jpg

followed by 'plumbing' these into place and staking 'em down to keep 'em put in a flower bed, when the wind gets up ...
WP_20201204_00_06_28_Pro.jpg

Clara loves the 'little reindeer family' ... almost as much as switching 'em on, when she gets here after school :giggle:.... Pam appears to have forgotten the various lights that i'm usually tasked with installing on the bushes surrounding 'said family' ... doubtless she'll twig soon enough :censored:

So, 'twere a lot later in the day 'fore i got time for me

dug out a new 6 ft LED twin batten and got a lead onto it so's I could hang it above the Harrison, for a bit more light ... the festoons in that box're ok for brief excursions in search of stuff, but not a lot of cop for doing anything by ...
WP_20201202_15_55_28_Pro.jpg

needs a bracket making up to get it out from the side of the box and totally above the centre of the lathe , but it's a good light ..... and had a couple of hours cleaning a lot of accumulated crap off of said tool ... it's not too bad, but the nooks and crannies are chocka and bet the chip tray sump is similarly crammed  .... ain't looked yet
WP_20201202_15_55_09_Pro.jpg

searched everywhere - in vain for a 32A chassis plug to install on it ... I know there're two here, but damned if I can recall WTF they are and not in me large box of 3 ph plugs/sockets :unsure: ... be an easier proposition than a trailing lead, to find a home for ... just plug a lead into it, when I want to use it(y) .... anyway, the rest of the day (and light) disappeared pretty quick.
half four came round quick and Reo'd asked me to run his Audi back to his place for him, when he'd finished for the day and he'd run me back.

It's a pity it'd gotten so dark .... 'cos the TT was serious :giggle::giggle: it's the 220BHP model with a built in grin factor of about 15 ... what a lovely drive ... apart from the bloody lights being waaaay too low ... like driving on dip .... the P38 and the Golf are superb in the lumens dept. .... I expected MUCH more from the TT's lamps :( .. would love a couple of hours playing in it .... a license killer for sure ...bike quick, :giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle: on rails and taught as a drum skin ..... superb! ....... so that was a fun end to the day .... Reo left me behind the wheel for the ride back, fair play ..... 'twas very enjoyable
had me tea and still couldn't find those bloody chassis plugs, so gave up for the day......but 'twere eight o'clock :giggle:
today's been .. er ..... 'kin wet, cold and miserable ..... and I don't honestly know where it went, least not 'til three, when it was school run time for a certain small person's collection and a couple of hours of entertaining ... after we'd had the 'lights' switch on

and to finish for this evening .. small rant .... got this in the post today along with the usual annual electoral role registration/confirmation letter .....

had a 225 TT briefly a couple of years ago. It was a nice enough car and felt very planted but didn’t find the performance anything special. The headlights are a common fault iirc, the chrome on the internal reflectors gets burnt off.

Probably felt impressive in the dark with poor lights and having been in a range rover for weeks but bike quick is a stretch  :)
you'd have to be winding the clock back to the early 80's

Nowadays 200BHP and 200KG is fairly common o_O

I’m not sure a TT would keep your SDR in sight for long - you’d be away over the horizon whilst they were still putting their brushes and scissors in the boot!...
In fairness I’ve driven a few TTs and I can see where Graham is coming from, but they are not comparable to modern bikes (or old ones for that matter!),

I must be getting old  ....
it certainly picked up its skirts and took off in a decent manner .... but yeh it's been a while since i've ridden anything 'modern' (what's an SDR?) .... love the hairdresser reference :ROFLMAO: ....... the lights were a serious disappointment .... with the P38 you can see what the oncomers had for breakfast, if they yawn ... awesome lights on that. .... Was a well planted lil' bus all the same .... I would like some time in one in the daylight

not making a slurry Dyl ... 3:1 water ... as per instructions on the can ... and Reo's advice
When we do sbr bond bridge we have sbr in our gritsand bedding mix not building sand and then make an sbr and cement slurry and paint the back of the slabs with it to bond to the bedding concrete.

Statistically young people and people in receipt of benefits vote more for left wing parties. It is all about changing the rules to make sure the current lot stay in power for ever.

Congratulations on your Mrs (and her penchant for tiny clothes!)...
mid 80s and a mate went down to Sud de France ... on a Harris Magnum with a Moriwaki Kwaka 1100 motor in it ... his very petite GF on the seat hump ... and a pair of throw-overs on the back .... giving it death down the Autoroute de Soleil when the back wheel ate a pannier .... with all her gear in it ... cost him a fortune, when they got there :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I heard of a guy that that happened to, but it jammed the rear wheel and spat him off down a motorway.

Was giving a lad a lift into town on a gsxr back in late 80's .... pulled out onto the main road and launched into a wheelie .... came up lovely and we had just got going when it came down with a bang...... looked behind and he was sliding down road on his back.... permanently etched in my memory is seeing all his stuffing coming out of his bomber jacket in clouds behind him 🤣🤣

Never ridden with a pillion, especially not my missus - she soils herself when I hit 71mph in her Aygo on the motorway!

Does the passenger have to lean with you on a bike? Can’t see me ever trying it to be honest (makes trips away with the lads easier too to be fair 😂 🤫)

Photo of my beloved below for anyone interested. Looks after me, does everything I ask. Never complains. 650cc AL7. Sorry if I thought I was talking about the missus 😂
