pretty similar styling to the old 'Paratrooper', available when i was a young teenager ... they were dear and under lever cocked, IIRC, with a 20 shot mag. .. only available in .177 ... bloody accurate though.keep one of these for pest control, 10 shots as fast as you can cycle.

been a bitty few days .. weather has been on / off .. Pam got the strimmer out Sunday morning, to give the edge of the lawn a trim, so's I could give it a seeing to ... ankle deep after several wet days last week ... and it didn't wanna play ball .. unusually?? .... no fuel getting to the primer bulb? so out with the tools - got it apart and me phone rings .. Vicki on her way up with some of our shopping, she'd picked up, whilst in town doing hers ..
so said strimmer got left, whilst I went and opened the gates .. ... 'Monkey' in the back, so a pleasant distraction for an hour or so .... wanted to go out in the field to pick some flowers for Granny ..
she is growing so quickly even from one visit to the next, it's noticeable ... when we saw her most days it wasn't quite so obvious
Visits don't seem to last long
back to the husqy and all its fuel pipes hard hardened to the point they were drawing air ... been sooooome time since I last did them ...
must remember to put some new line on the 'shopping list' ... try to keep spares for most things as it's always a Sunday when they're needed most
so with that sorted and Pam dealing with the edges I went an' massacred the grass beside the drive ... was some bit long and left a serious trail behind the Dane
which'd need the Countax's collector ..... sod raking that lot up
Collector full off the lawn .... then several more off here ..
it's steeper than it looks and is a hang yer bum off the side of the seat job to maintain traction to achieve the 'manicured' look
got a couple of coats of paint on these yesterday .....
were badly in need of a freshen up ....... no comments please Aiden ... it's a green-ish colour, according to the tin ...
Squirrels are now taking the piss with their dining habits .......

After the Husqy's temperamentallity Sunday, the Dyson decided to join in this morning ....
amazing what constant flexing will do to a mains lead .... Someone'd obviously been in there before (this'd been a ten quid bargain at a local auction house, probably 7 or 8 years ago and has been brilliant)
New connections made and a good 150psi blast out of every nook and cranny, whilst on me bench .. it gets one every month or so ... and 'twas like a new one again - awesome suction on these DC01s
been rained on a few times today - HARD!! so only odds and sods done for me, especially with the various interuptions ... Pam appears with a bottle of old cooking oil in her one hand (great fire starter fluid) and said 'chip' pan in t'other ... had I got anything that'd get this a bit cleaner than her efforts with the soap had ..... Carb cleaner's not a lot of cop... but thinners is a lot better but some of it was welded on .... especially on the base ....
so ..........

...... that brush is now a fearsome tool with 80% of its bristle length diminished ..... Pam was impressed when it went back to the kitchen half an hour later
the red Thai chicken went down very well afterwards ....... and so too did a dish full of strawberries this evening .. sod the reactions ... I took me chances ... haven't had any for several days .... but must confess to feeling pretty itchy again on the arms tonight .. no rash as yet though !!
Got a letter yesterday morning from ..................... the bloody NHS fella ... again .... 16th August FFS ...... and now't to say it won't happen again then ....... 16th March was the last time I went from here on a major stock up shopping expedition
been putting off getting all sorts delivered ..... it's gonna have to happen ... pallet collection booked this evening ... and several other items I've been delaying ordering'll get sorted too ... I understand it, but FFS .... it's getting a tad frustrating now !!

Keep your eyes open for a pair of tyres with this type of tread pattern for your mower Graham -
They give a massive amount more grip than a turf tyre but still don’t leave a mark.

thanks MB ..... it ain't long since i put a full set on't Countax ...... the issue with it across the slope is actually keeping the wheels on the deck ....... could really do with some LARGE wheel weights TBH ...and to be brutally honest .. the bank is too steep for it ..... Only use it for collecting/sweeping with ... no way you could mow with it .. the Dane does a great job of that.
have considered acquiring one of these powered, trailed sweepers and hauling it back and fore with a trials bike
... me 325 Gori/SWM'd be well up to itwouldn't take a lot of doing to make it a draw bar .. and I've towed a trailer with the z1000 before now
......... but would not wanna try it, with that, on grass

We’ve got a little (16 or 18hp-ish) Kubota tractor that I reckon had a hedgecutter on it in a previous life. It came with wheel-weights on one side which I removed a few years ago when taking the wheel off to sort a puncture. The weights are only little things, 10-12 inch round max. just been searching these and it is most definitely not the Tefra hitch Aiden ... no spring ... the second lock has its own cylinder, linked to/through the main jaw cylinder and a gravity interlock on the secondary lock to prevent it releasing, unless fully crowded (or I haven't gotten at it and changed that crap feature, with my own interlock)
or is there an "autolock 3 " and a tefra autolock 3 ?

Can't you mulch the grass what do you do with the stuff you collect? I try and do mime every few days and without a mulching mower I still let the clippings just go on the grass. Maybe collect in early spring and late autumn when damp

they're both 'chop the crap out of it' mulching decks Jim, but still leave a trail behind them .. although the Countax does have the collector which gets 99% of it ... if i didn't collect it, we'd be knee deep in green mulch everywhere ..... the collections just get spread about at the bottom of a bank which is slowly rising nicely

I tell you all what I could do with a good steer on, and that's garden waste chipping - I've got lots of brambles and hedges and no real space to store the green waste - it's a pain dragging multiple dumpy bags up to the tip full of branches, and reducing them to chippings which I can just fill my green bin with would be much better. I've got a little electric thing which copes well with branches, but not with the green bits. any suggestions? I've been looking at the £600 odd quid petrol powered chippers on eblag, on the view that hiring a chipper for a few days a year will be uneconomical...
