I have won and lost a lot on it, over all up massivly but last week took a bad trade and kept adjusting my stop loss. In the end i pulled at minus 5k... Have since made up half back and typically the trade would have come good in the week (gold usd) just a bit of a dump.
I actually dont follow currency pairs to much but GBP JPY and USD JPY are both ones very closely followed by many. Look for trendlines, support, resistance, channels, upper and lower. Fundimentals such as news, covid, trade wars, job losses, manufacturing etc. You will lose some trades so this is natural you cant win them all.
If your on insta and follow Cartel FX he is very highly rated and has a course he sells for £500.00 I have it

wink... if interested pm me it teaches a lot.
I have pretty much traded gold since late feb and thats it. I know now 80% of what it can and will do and what really affects it etc. yesterday it was hitting a peak it hit a month or so ago so you knew to set up a trade to sell at that moment. I didnt go for the full drop it did i wanted 5 dollars. With a reasonable lot volume it was very hansom but i wouldn't of known that in the past.
also demo accounts are often are not quite the true reflection of the real graphs. There designed to entice you in.
Trade small lots 0.01 until you find your setups and how they work.
also just lastly, the long game is good but you would be better placed in stocks / shares imo. Ideally you need to day trade which involves finding setups and auto trading. The currency market is so volatile. It litrally takes something silly to happen and your long term setup will go out the window. Example, when Boris went caught covid and ended up in intensive care, the pound plummeted it was costly to many, when the fed announced interest rate cuts gold rocketed in seconds you could make hansom money
