Some people reckon further drop coming, currently I'm in covid19 related, rare earth minerals n one specific third world project, had a fantastic week
Might be worth looking at fund/trackers?
But I love the risk / reward ratio of AIM rather than main FTSE
Just got to do loads research

I traded Dow, 4x, gold, coffee, oil and most commodities. My problem was addiction!!

Still follow shares and commodities with an interest but don’t gamble with the money anymore!!
But if I was, gold miners would be my bet! Money printing on this current scale will lead to the shiny stuff going up!! Easiest place to store it is still in the ground!!

Exactly,it's all about the future value, current one I'm in is just minor exploration firm at the moment, but getting amazing results on land from major mining firm that needs future supply, kind of a perfect storm
Same with rare earth minerals, rhodium, palladium, platinum, price is pretty high, demand will outstrip supply

Hi Lynchy. Sound like your on a good run there.
I've had an H&L account for a while. Lost interest for a bit but getting back into it now. Being from Aberdeen it was the small oil exploration companies that's the thing but oil is so volatile for no reason and there is a huge amount of decommissioning going on.
Was thinking of looking into mining. Start with gold and work from there. Same idea as oil. Where do you find your best research tends to come from? Been trawling through some of the junior mining sites. Some seen real out of date or one sided.
Thanks

Hi,yeah I'm in small cap/junior mining but really they're exploration as not many actually produce, either end up bought out,or joint venture or bust, slow decline while board of directors milk cash from shareholders
Gold price is crazy at the mo,not indicative of future value,GGP still got some way to go,but 30/04 could be the big news day, other gold miners more volatile just now,so could be good to get in on dips, gwmo, solgold
I mainly look at a sector, that's been rare earth metals with regards to ev battery's,then find shares involved and in the sector, look at long term price graph, often when a shares been historically much higher n dropped, people who are keen to drop their average because they bought in at the higher prices can help push price up,so if you're in lower that helps, just one thing to look at
Currently money in EUA which is palladium, rhodium, miner in Russia, shares suspended since Feb,hopefully in take over talks
EMH lithium miner in with Czech gov, handily placed for VW n Tesla
Orcp coal power generation project backed by china in Pakistan, bit of a one off for me but china wants secure power supply as it opens up investment for $100 billion economic corridor
Was into some miners in Africa but with current climate prefer to stick with safer country's,plus it appears china is more or less taking assets off African governments in return for debt relief
I look on bulletin boards,LSE,advn, most of its shite but can get snippets n seeing what money's being put in/taken out can be useful,AIM chat group on FB,basically trawl the internet, plenty of mining reports, but not any particular one I follow
Looking back at Sirius minerals, good example of what to avoid.....but even there the week before takeover it had 37% potential profit, getting in at right price, even if you have to sit for a while is what I currently try to do,

and for the sake of the unedumacated .. and me ... that means :giggle: ... good or bad news
Dunno yet looks like they've bought another firm for $460+Aus million, but they have total of $2.4 Aus billion cash so drill results from havieron due today could still be leading to another purchase lol champagnes still on ice

Crazy at the moment,HEMO that breed 'humamized mice' went through the roof n dropped back,PYC,don't even know what there covid relationship is,spiked n dropped, then firms with genuine results n products are marginally up or down?
Still happy with Avacta,

Lads I have working for me both have family who work for AZ, they all have AZ shares coming out of their ears! Most of them purchased at half the current price 😳

Heard something about it being done on 'not for profit' basis, wonder if that's just research or also manufacturing?

What’s going on with GGP @Lynchy - they’ve dropped a bit over the last couple of days? Is that potential buy-out off the table now?
