do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
As Druid says, if you want top marks in man maths it’s a 25% discount on a good year.. 😂
investment in capital plant used to be 50% :)... when did that go down? :(:(... was always a good way of losing taxable bucks at the end of the year :giggle: - big spend equalled less tax payable  and you had the kit to use / make life easier -- win win all round :giggle:(y)

premises maintenance was 100% - 's why I had such a nice palisade fence round the entire yard ... better than giving it to the blood suckers

capital ;):giggle:.... and as a sole trader/partnership you have a much free-er hand to play 'the game' your way (y) ... far too many downsides to becoming limited :(
I always thought you ended up in higher tax bracket too easy if one good years instead of one bad. Although like I say the govt has steadily eroded any benefits of ltd these days. I suppose if you want the dough in your own name you have to swallow the tax at some point.

I've never found it a problem. Just guage it towards the end of the tax year and spend/buy plant accordingly. Regular Mtd SA is a pain/downside now but imagine it won't be long before similar applies to Ltd companies too

So not got the lowdown yet, but it appears the SY75C has been sold from under me. Really annoyed as beyond giving it a try on site everything was lined up and we where going to send the telehandler up on the lowloader when it went to collect the SY75C as the reality was it was going to stay unless it was utterly horrendous.
Pissed is an understatement, but more so I'm pretty disappointed. Obviously not to be, but it's a shame, as the hope was to try the one this year and possibly replace the other 175 late next year/early 2028, providing it lived up to the hype.

In my normal slightly pissy post sales shenanigins mood i'm awaiting a price on a Cat 307.5..... I don't hold out much hope for it as I suspect the price will be alot more than i'm willing to spend and in all honesty i'm not beyond just keeping my 175's........ Infact if I just get rid of the manitou I might be able to buy a BL71.......

The Cat will have better resale..... but over a 10-20 year lifespan with me it does'nt matter as it'll be worth what it's worth at the end.....
For the record the 20 year old TB175 has earned 2k this week........ So forgive me if i'm leaning towards not giving a F and saying keep it....... Just a pity I have no faith in Takeuchi's back up as the diggers get older.

Was it an ex demo? Can’t they just get you a new model?

Can’t blame the salesman for taking a sale in the current climate imho. Didnt sound that cheap for a real basic machine with a fixed boom either.

Last year's stock.... I suspect they probably haven't imported any of that particular size this year as they aren't a big seller in the UK market.

Salesman is pissed too.... But not got to the bottom of it yet. I'm hoping it's not Sany UK because I shall likely not bother again if that's the case.... A sales a sale, however if someone makes the effort to take interest in your product it's a bit f****ng poor. I'm happy with the mini, but in all honesty I'm also happy continuing my normal craic of buying second hand gear. In all honesty none of it gives me a great deal of aggravation.

The old man always said ,first up with the cash takes it home
Meh, depends on what how and why.

We had similar buying the first big machine which could of been a Kubota KX48U. Long and short price agreed with grandfather, pending me popping down, paying etc... next evening ring to check all is well with me going there the next afternoon..... Yeah sold, we have lots of JCBs though 🙄

I'd be ok if we'd dithered about but had driven up, looked, said I was keen but waiting on there final figures etc.... which is irritating.

I’m guessing you hadn’t actually agreed to buy it? If that’s the case then the dealer isn’t going to reserve a machine on the chance you might want it? Sales move fast.. stock needs to moves faster, im surprised if Sany doesn’t have another in the country/on the way? @Regy53 may know?

Can't agree to buy something if they don't send the paperwork over regarding final prices etc!..... I'd be less pissed if I'd been sat on a quote for a couple weeks but the last communication was literally an apology that the hitch hadn't arrived yet from Geith... I do wonder if it was even ordered?

If someone had rung to say there was other interest and did I definitely want it or not for the price of X then I'd of made the decision there and then. However I do get the feeling even the dealer was unaware 🤔

The mini digger had the 4 ton machine sent on a low loader the following day and I then waited several weeks for the new machine to arrive. I've no problem committing and backing things up.... But I need the final costs etc on a bit of paper before so, which I figure is what we would all do?

Got to the bottom of it......

Somewhat not impressed. We will see what the rep comes back with and I don't blame him (tbh the machines been sold from underneath him too) but all I will say is a couple grand difference today might of cost a good few future sales.

Pity as I do like the product.
