Do you ever look at any of the flight tracker sites?

If you have more than a passing interest in planes, it's not hard to setup your own receiver to see what is happening.
All commercial planes and most light aircraft (military too when they feel like it) transmit their flight details. This is how the tracking sites get their data.
The purpose of the transmissions is primarily for collision avoidance and Air Traffic Control.

Btw...you can track the lanc sporadically.

You can filter by airline and by aircraft so you can find it specifically. You can also filter to only show military and government aircraft which is especially interesting. Bear in mind that the Americans only turn trackers on on transport and training planes,if you look at America on a weekday with government filter on then it will still be completely yellow with planes. I find this absolutely mind boggling. Especially when I can't even have a powerful toaster due to carbon emissions.


Edit. Just looked on flight radar and you can currently watch the red arrows training over akrotiri

Yup...there's some dedicated military apps and sites that show more adsb tracks than the common sites.
My point was the lanc often doesn't have transponder on.

yep - been a pretty sh1t day here too ...... chucking it down, then the sun comes out for five, 'til it chucks it down again .... can't do sod all in this .................. and that bloody green stuff's had another week of growing

Yeah trying to get work on the garden room after having a visit from the authorities! Had the ok to restart again Wednesday pretty sure I know who is to blame but not 100% !

After the soaking a couple of days ago when the forecast said no rain after 9.00 I put on the full @doobin suit this morning. Hot and sweaty all day until it rained and I had to work later than I wanted to wait for the rain 🌧
