Hot and muggy all day but dry. Supposed to rain a bit later. Not a bad couple of days TBF

A slightly different look at the weather.
You may have heard of Lake Eyre in Oz.
I can't tell you where it's near, because it's a long way from anywhere.
Anyway, three months ago (April), it rained heavily somewhere completly different (also a long way from anywhere). The water has been filling the dry river beds and water holes and has started filling the normally dry, salt lake Eyre.
If it fills (which it's only done three times since white fellers started keeping records (160 years)), it gets to 6m deep, but the size of the lake is half the size of Wales.

Just got back from a couple of days in Surrey/Hampshire ...heck it was hot

What a relief up here
Not sure I've known such a contrast
I'd say mid thirties when we left now 23 up here.
Grass dead as a dodo down there ...green and mental growth up here
Bonkers little island we live in ..only 4 hours apart

Same here. Where Rory lives an hour away will be yellow and arid come up onto the moor and it's still green and lush
