thank you ... took me 7 years to find it and tripped over it by chance ... ticked all the boxes, bar the shortage of a Druid's man cave (outbuildings)

absolutely ... and that's just Pam's side of the trellis fence ... dug a couple of thousand tonnes out on the other side to create me patch

rocks started to 'outgun' the JakieB and a 'duck hunt started ... but in the meantime the landscaping got done

the last block
learning to lay them 9" hollows was an 'uphill' learning curve .. had the drop on it after 1200 of 'em though
lots of digging later

and I eventually had me 'patch'

so carrying on from the Countax I got given ... have managed to find some dry hours to play about with it ... 's never gonna mow again for sure .. ripped this out from under it .. might salvage a few spare bits off it, but deck is fooked.

spent a bit of time investigating all the bodged wiring and concluded it was gonna be a re-wire it job , so gutted out all but the bare essentials - hoping Angus @modelman093 can tell me WTF the connection is below in the second pic?
guessing it's either a kill of some sort, or possibly temp./oil sensor ... assume t'other is a charge regulator as it's direct to the battery supply at the solenoid?... carb.'s been stripped and cleaned and fuel cut off solenoid at the bottom of the float chamber ain't clicking so assume seized, so wedged that in the open position and'll put a tap in the fuel line ('s possible that it's also used as a kill as it blocks the main jet in the closed position - Angus'll know for sure), but not looked for info. on these yet .....

couldn't get it to turn over as the electromagnetic clutch driving the deck is seized solid so needed to get it up in the air a bit... so woke the 'Drema from her slumbers and popped it on the bench

removed all the extraneous crud that was never gonna get used again, so' I could get at the clutch better and removed what I could of it ... the main body was a different story .. left this dogged as hard as I could get it overnight with plenty of WD soaking

still solid this morning, so it had to have it

the thin disc, that is

crank now goes round sweet as and we have compression finished removing all the un-necessary cr*p that this was not gonna need in its new life as a garden tug and sat it back down on the deck ... as it started to rain a bit heavier

will see about making it run next, with some new basic wiring, minus all its kill switches/knockouts/lockouts/etc. .. fully stripped down for racing

Vicki arrived late afternoon for me to take a look at her wheel .... lucky girl, rim looks fine - two new tyres ordered for tomorrow ... bang a pair on the front and keep the good one to go on the rim I bought Sunday, for her to chuck in the boot if she's going anywhere distant ... off to Manchester next week on a McGuire course she teaches at .... so keep yer phone on standby Paul @Mogman
fair play to Ruben @doobin he said he'd have been and sorted her Sunday, but he was away sadly. Fortunately that full size 'supposed' space saver came home sweet as ... never seen the road before, looking at it this afters

did knock these out over the weekend - Pam wants a towel rail ... usually hang 'em on the cooker oven door handles but ain't keen on doing that to her 'new' Stove ...

just got to assemble em .. CBA to get the Caddy out for four little welds - will have to wait 'til I have a few other things that need the hot stick - like a tow bar for the new tug and anything else I can think of

oh and this got a bit closer to the bench this afters too ... While I had the 'Drema running

still in need of a sheave though .. no one got one hanging about?? .. have to ask Russ - see if he has anything sat about? .. everything else'll need designing around it

the wonky looking bolt in front of the Tico is out of the 'Drema's fuel filter mount bracket .. head snapped off again - third one I've had to replace ... bracket has a nasty wobble, ticking over, even though it's made of 8mm plate and bolted solidly to the side of the engine block .. spotted it when I lifted the bonnet to turn the isolator on

weather is 'sposed to be a lot better tomorrow .... for a week

sadly yes -- the miserable pair too .. nice ones're next door to them -- pity wasn't the other way round .. one plus side is we're a fair bit higher/elevated above them a good fifteen-twenty feet or so

I think iirc it's a suppressor to reduce interference on your neighbours telly .

... bear in mind the brake is a 60mm disc , with an even smaller brake pad ... not sure the hydrostatic box'd stick too much in the way of increased rev input ... 'specially as this one doesn't have a fan to cool it ... but i like your thought process though

Pretty sure it's the Reg/Rectifier - two yellow are AC, red is positive and the case is ground.

... bear in mind the brake is a 60mm disc

Remember it's on the input to the gearbox, so high speed, low torque.
The braking effect is multiplied through the gearbox.

the brake disc has it's own separate shaft out of the gearbox on these things, but yeh will be much slower than the input

what you can't see is that there were 17 dumpies of stone in that aerial, 4 or 5 bags of 20 to dust and a couple of sand ... 's all stacked up along side of the drive now, in what we in Wales call 'A Wall'

well I'm getting closer with it
created a new loom and re-wired it this morning...
the mystery terminal Gavin, was as I thought, - a kill line -- had the fan cowl off this morning and it's connected to the twin coils to earth 'em out.
Ignition switch took a bit of sussing .. interesting set up ... has a set of kill terminals, permanently connected when off, open circuit in run position.
So set them up to ground that kill terminal - float chamber solenoid's on the run circuit, starter solenoid on the crank position .. works fine have had it firing on carb cleaner
Poor old spark though .. gonna have to have the coils off and clean their faces off - got the flywheel 90% better than found, but guessing the coil's faces're rusty too and 'screwing up' the air gap.
amazing how much gear you need out for a piddly little job like a re-wire

tyres stopped play after lunch - went and got Vicki's motor sorted -- rim was fine when the tyre came off .. put a pair on the front and the O/S/F can go on the spare rim I bought Sunday, when it arrives - another DHL saga BTLs
