Use a juicer as per the post. The problem is preserving it, I think it'll start to ferment on its own eventually.
Isn't there some interesting fact about everyone drinking beer (even the kids) in towns back in ye olden days? Because alcohol keeps and doesn't have bacteria in it like the water used to at one time.

we've got a little apple press that Pam uses on ours ... the faff is shredding 'em up to go in it ... not got many trees though and doesn't produce a lot and doesn't sit around long enough to turn from anything other than juice

The technical term is 'Scratter'. There are different types from proper bought hand operated rotary ones, to a simple curved blade on a pole to use in a bucket. You can also use a garden shredder!
Have you got a hydraulic press in the yard there? With your skills I bet you could make a great fruit press.

I don't have an artistic bone in me, so when i'd done I didn't know whether i'd created a pile of crap or whatever, the birds like it anyhow in its current position:It's got an old solar powered light in it and as you can see i've deliberately left it to rust so it fits in with its rustic charm and needs no maintenance.
An old Yorkshire building trade term is 'Rack 'at eye' which means setting something up by eye and nothing else. If it looks right then it is right (or reet as that should be). I used that on this and didn't measure much out, the scrolls were hand formed with a pair of pliers and the roof nothing but bits of scrap sheet cut and jointed together to use it all up.

That's why I suggested a rifle. I don't think an air rifle pellet is big enough for an animal the size of a squirrel and will just injure it.
Although like the chap said, they don't stay still for long enough to get a good aim with a single pellet or bullet. Get a 12 bore and make a shooting gallery to attract them to it, then sit in wait

None here, just loads of rabbits and they're similar in that they're a bit big for an air rifle imo. They do sit still for a while though.How big are the squirrels by you

Where I previously rented a workshop I had squirrels living in the roof space above me. They'd scamper across eventually bringing the ceiling boards down.
Occasionally they'd fall in and run around, I remember one making a jump for the lathe and missing hitting it's head on the edge. It just bounced off and carried on, bloody hard heads!

Rabbits and squirrels are a common quarry for an air rifle ( sub 12ft lbs legal one) out to 40 yds, some people say more, but its more down to the skill of the person behind the trigger than the gun.
