the idea is to deal with the ''spare dosh'' situation, to avoid getting a tax bill Dan ;):ROFLMAO: ..... 's why I had such a nice 8ft palisade round my entire yard - building / property maintenance was 100% deductable :giggle: .. with capital plant a close second at the end of the year - time for new toys :giggle::giggle:;)(y)
Got to spend £20k on our roof shortly- trying to think of a way in which I can justify business use in a 3 bed semi!

well you're allowed a certain percentage deductible if you're running from home for the paperwork, leccy, phone, facilities, etc. ... doubt you'd manage to claim on the roof though :ROFLMAO: even if the paperwork was gonna get soggy without it :oops:
could try classing it as a 'live in office':unsure:

Is there a risk of being liable for capital gains on your house value increase if/when you sell if you’ve been claiming allowances for home office? I’m not sure about this but it’s in the back of my mind for some reason.

don't really know -- never done it - would think if you were claiming for any maintenance/improvements it may flag up, but if simply biz O/heads, I can't see why  .. it's simply a proportion of the bills - leccy / water / heating / phone / etc. .. a new roof might be construed as a bit beyond though :ROFLMAO:

Every now and again I go fishing for a price for the 3t, to see what's the going rates and to see if will finally add the tilty, currently a rc1 offered at £11,230 as s30 180/s30 180 with rcII plus 1800 fitting no buckets as already got the hydraulic hitch and buckets.

There is times when the ability to tilt and turn would have come in handy but that's a few k short of a new micro, still amazes me how expensive they are

When I built my outdoor room, it was done/designed as an office. I did debate at the time putting all the materials and build through as an expense but weren't sure how that would land if we sold and potentially having to pay capital gains on commercial use.

In the end just did it as a 50/50 office and playroom and didn't claim for any of the build

Yeah. Don't think there's anyway round it. Hurts being vat registered and not being able to claim £3-4k back😩

Makes my mind boggle how some of these social media digger types actually make enough money to pay for this shiny kit that never seems to actually do any work - 3d guidance - all the attachments - trays and brushes, beams and buckets ... paint not rubbed off any of it 🤷‍♂️

Are the brushes any good? They are mega expensive for what's essentially couple of hangers, bit of metal and some bristles

I came across this tilt and rotate bucket recently, available to hire from Coyle Equipment services, produced by OKB but bottom halve looks very much like the rotating bucket BMC now produce ?
I'm almost tempted to hire one for my 8t ?View attachment 70373
Just out of curiosity I got a quote for this, £5600 or 350 a week to hire for 8t size.
I’m still contemplating a rotating bucket but BMC’s is to heavy at 450kg I’d planned to have a look at JB equipment,s but they don’t have any available for 12 weeks, currently on the boat from India I reckon.
I’d like to have one built using a light weight high spec. Hardox bucket, can’t be that hard?
