My 4 hose tiltys take a bit of faffing about with to fit nicely onto a new machine - they still have a basic control system to switch between tilt/extra service/quickhitch and there is a wiring loom to route and incorporate. I’ve seen them bodged onto machines too.
I stripped the loom out of the bobcat I recently sold (I installed it myself in 2019) and forgot how much of the interior I had to remove from the cab to do so!

Yeah surprised me too how much was involved in a "basic" plug n play setup - he did a lovely job on mine but I wouldn't of been capable of it as a one off.

Ah fair enough I thought they literally just plugged into the various hydraulic lines. Forgot the 'lectrics.

If there are no hydraulics through the hitch (ie 3rd service and/or hydraulic q/h below) running off the 4 hoses then there are no electrics. Not many are that basic though.
I’m a big fan of a six pipe system, so with hitch lines also. Could even make mine an 8 pipe, there’s two through ports!

Not a fan of running a grab under a tilty so it works for me.

Bought my grab to do this job but found it pretty nervous for precise work with the build height total and not great for holding the slate , well built grab but maybe not suitable for what i was trying to achieve,or I was just poor with it which is entirely possible :
We put a strap round the slates and guided them into place by hand in the end.

99% of what I do in a digger involves a grab under a tilty - I massively prefer them to stand-alone rotator grabs tbh. Way more holding power, and the ability to tilt increases versatility on certain jobs too. And you can dig with them….

On your TB230 with S40 (?) how much does the tilty and grab weigh though?

Too much tbh! But the tilty I have on the 3 tonner was originally on my 6 tonner (it’s an RC20) and is a size up from what would be best suited to it.
My 3 tonne setup has never been a great marriage of tiltrotator to digger and I might swap it for an R1 at some point in the future if I have a tax bill and a load of spare dosh. It is very heavy and has a massive build height, but it does what I need very well (you do have to drive it with your backside-tilt-alarm switched on though!).
I haven’t actually tried it on the 230 yet as am waiting on a hitch but that’s a different story… 😂

the idea is to deal with the ''spare dosh'' situation, to avoid getting a tax bill Dan ;):ROFLMAO: ..... 's why I had such a nice 8ft palisade round my entire yard - building / property maintenance was 100% deductable :giggle: .. with capital plant a close second at the end of the year - time for new toys :giggle::giggle:;)(y)
