He’s made a real pigs ear of it all hasn’t he(no offence to him at all!!)…but he’s certainly learned the hard way. In that time I’ve had one machine & 1 tilty.. never had to fix either… with no need to consider swapping anytime soon! 🥵
I have done 2 machines and 2 set ups. But have kept them both!!
Would also agree with comment regarding not putting one on a zero tail. My kobelco 8ton is conventionally mounted boom rather than king post.
My issue is transport for the kobelco. Had a very good run with that machine this year but will now be heading out on the little Kubota for a couple of months.
My issue is attachments. I love driving the Kubota more than the kobelco, but when I jump on the kobelco you realize how much more work you can get through……if you have the space!!

It’s just human nature to always want more/bigger/better.. I do feel like @Furniss that 6ton is the sweet spot, I just hire in smaller & bigger stuff and it works well for me. The next run of jobs I’ve got all entail the machine being left on site for at least 3+ month blocks so I’m not getting it moved around much.
Oneday I may chop it all in for a 2.7ton towable setup again.

What do they normally tilt at? I didn't think it was much more than 40degs anyway? Wonder what they cost.

78kg doesn't sound too bad I don't think especially if fitting it direct with out a top hitch🤔

On an 8014 n similar you'd deffo know about it at 78kg and then you add the bucket and whatever your filling it with.

Bigger models might tilt to 45 degrees- not much in it.

This looks like a stripped down version of an ec02. Manual hitch and no through ports or control system. They’ve saved around 15kg- not really enough to worry about. However, I think this is just what the market needs- if the price is right!

Half the price apparently. Half the price of what, who knows?

Isn’t the 8014 a conventional tailswing model?

I have my ec02 on an e19, with a top hitch too. It’s not quite ‘you don’t know it’s on there’ but it all feels balanced and plays nicely.

It is but it's 1.4t that 500kg missing from the likes of an e19 is huge and then add in you've not got expanding tracks.

The old 801.4/5 of druids is a good machine but well unstable and has a short track frame too.

Also no expanding tracks on an 8014 so they are fine in a straight line but it's quite narrow base to operate over the side.

Druids 801 as some have mentioned is a much shorter track frame and doesn't expand out. Its a great little machine but not a patch on the stability of a modern 1.8 tonner. Its also lighter than a modern machine. And doesn't have 4 dual acting aux lines so cant run this basic EC02 setup. Shame because my 18z that replaced it also doesn't have enough aux lines or this would have fitted straight on the S30 top hitch it already runs!
And 40degrees of tilt is fine when you can also rotate...
Its a decent deal if you have the right setup machine for it.
Pic of Druids 801 against Doobins far superior (as he constantly reminds us) E19
The 801 hasn't depreciated in the last 15 years - the E19 is still working its way down there 🤑

I assumed it was this deal? But reading the small print, this includes a hydraulic hitch which the basic setup doesn't have. So maybe its less than these figures? And I guess you get 20% off this too at the moment with their other offer?

No that’s the ec02.

So it must be cheaper than that.

And no, that’s the offer with the 20% off. Rep told me it the other way around on FB and then had to correct himself.
