Agreed, tightest I can achieve doing the rugby post sockets is 800mm square.don't think that's doable really. Id say auger is needed

I could have played with this for hours![]()
Mates new to him bobcat e26, Hywel Evans set up hitch, guard and lights, twin rollers, hydraulic hitch.
Impressive set up, plenty of lifting, twisting and grabbing power, cab felt roomy enough for a zero tail and all felt tight enough for 2800hrs.
Ideal for him- they're tree surgeons, don't know what the buckets are for![]()

Trouble with augers is deviation. You need a mast and guide to get the level of vertical accuracy you need.Just to change the subject but on the same thread, what geometry bucket do you use for digging a small hole quite deep, I'm talking 500 square around 1000 deep. I seem to end up with a meter square every time I try to keep it tight.
I have some 203x203 columns to plant and concrete in. I have an auger with 300 diameter but it turns out I'm not that good at putting the hole in the right place.
New augers with halo are pretty good , they light up when your off plumb . I’ve not used one yet but they are available for the same auger I have on kubota kx027Trouble with augers is deviation. You need a mast and guide to get the level of vertical accuracy you need.
I think that was @Shovelhands.Bmc sell square hole buckets and then there was someone on here that made a clamshell for digging deep square holes.
I find self amalgamating ('loom') tape very hard to find these days ... ideal for that though, but'd still need a bit of adhesive to finish the tail withWhat’s with the earth tape on the joystick that’ll be a sticky mess soon. Needs some amalgamation tape etc

I nearly bought one with halo, but decided it was one more thing to go wrong .New augers with halo are pretty good , they light up when your off plumb . I’ve not used one yet but they are available for the same auger I have on kubota kx027
the self amalgamating I was talking about is a plastic not rubber, but know what you mean ..... haven't seen the fabric sticky tape in years -- been trying to think of the name of itThe rubber type tape is available from screwfix/toolstation I assume on the shelf. The last fabric-type loom tape was some Tesa stuff from ebay when I re wrapped my golf wiring loom.
