do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Some poxy off the shelf chipboard kitchen units with the mandatory cupboards/drawers/wine fridge bollocks of the modern day island. But it gives me the option of adding reinforcement within the design - it’s all in the ‘ideas’ stage at the moment but the input here aligns with my thoughts and has definitely inspired!
OK .. bin the other ideas ..... fabricated steel frame under it in 3" angle with 3" on edge flats for ribbing across the top with more flats attached to form a 3"x3" tee, all securely anchored to your lovely top and build/clad your unit around it - job done

Tight squeeze for the lorry, polesaw got a workout 😆 Drivers happy to come back though (only 2 minutes from their yard so I did say do it with 6 wheelers if you like) and customer wants me to price up making the gate a bit bigger 👍
Paths are all loose, I'll pop them up when I'm back on Thursday and they'll go. Might as well leave a cleanish route for now.
50 ton of planings coming to start

Testing out the new remote security system.

An Ajax alarm system and a RuralView 4g camera on a pole. All run off the machine battery with backup batteries in the alarm unit and up by the camera on the pole so that if you unplug it from the digger it still works for an hour. I have mounting points on the digger permanently and you can also cable tie them on for temporary points.

It’s an alloy scaffold pole with a clamp bolted to the dipper and a cable run up the boom. Very quick to clamp on and then lift upright.

The alarm sensors will send a sequence pf three pictures when triggered. The camera is a pan tilt zoom model with a good wide field of view.

Won’t stop then but might make them think twice and give me a fighting chance.

I could imagine something like this hidden in a nearby hedge
controlled by an app on my phone.

Good idea, getting more and more brazen thief’s are.

I’ve same plan for my welfare cabin, weld a telescopic mast to rear and then rural view etc 4g camera fed from battery which has big 150w solar backup as well as generator and maybe floodlight with speaker so you can tell them cops on way etc so they scarper.

Tried to buy a knackered mini lighting tower for standalone unit as well but keep missing them at auction etc need one with knackered engine ideally

all this is yet another terrible indictment to the sh1t state of the country, when you virtually have to sleep in yer kit to keep it from all the thieving bastards who live off other ppl's backs and just will not work for an honest living.:mad:
Folks in the S Wales valleys only started locking their doors in the mid '70s .. burglary was unheard of .. now look at the state of things :cry: second and third generation scumbags everywhere :mad:

Todays job. Wasting a beautiful winters day stuck inside with all of us on CPD/ training on the next generation of air source units. We are quite lucky that we usually manage to persuade the manufacturers to come to us. Far less hassle as it’s just one day spent per person wheras Swindon would be 2 days and a night out as well. Rare to get all the vans in one place. Missing the Dmax from the lineup as that was down the yard. MK7 transits still serving us well. My old one went off to a new home yesterday so just 5 left.
