Sort of my job as I'm putting the ground loops in, but BIL and customer have done all the work so far. Bleddy tidy job. Probably because I've not been near it!
Just waiting for pipes to arrive on site.

Saturdays morning off with the wife for ParkRun and some extra miles around the lake. Stunning morning. Big fry up at home, then a callout to old lady with poorly boiler, then a few hours over on the project. Laid and compacted some more stone in front of container so I could get the screener out. Had a play with it but need to fit the bigger mesh as everything is wet now. Washed it off and put it away. Found the auger and drove an 8” hole down through some ash roots, and started setting up for the security gates for the old gateway that I plan to open back up. Ran out of daylight. Back to yard to tidy van and pick up ramp and rope for collecting the old Ajax donkey saw tomorrow.

Couple of little jobs finished off at a school this morning- took the skidsteer in case I needed to knock paths through undergrowth, hedge cutter was enough, and the ladder incase the polesaw wasn't long enough, but it was👌 So didn't actually need the trailer but better to have it and not need it...
Was expecting to be there all day, but back in the yard by 12 so we did a log delivery and I went to visit my mates at a steam fair 👍👍
Took his tractor for a spin in the fantastic evening sun. I sold it to him last year and I still maintain its the best starting machine I've ever had- better even than the brand new Ranger I had-, look at the key funny and the thing starts! 😂
Freelander looking great in the sun too 😎

Well - Taunton and back this morning to collect the baby Ajax saw. Retired gentleman selling off his hobby tools as ill health. Be my turn one day to do the same. Hopefully another 40 years. He used it for cutting 3” round bar for making wheels for his large scale model trains. Not sure what guage, about 3-4” at a guess. Saw is in rather nice condition. Spare blades and a full manual with fold out diagrams. Not sure manual is original as it shows prices in metric but measurements are in imperial and metric. I sent Ajax an email asking for age and the MD emailed me back (on a Sunday) and reckons 1970.
Heavy little lump. Need to clear out the coolant tank and refit belt as removed but present. Seller gave me a pile of steel flat bar and round as well. Poor old bugger still wants to play but not in any shape to do anything now :-(

Yup all those bits. Not in the photo though. Google says the Ajax moved to Bredbury in 1979 so maybe not all that old after all.

I'd say it's a fair bet he bought it from the 1975 advert ? (still in his possession)

The advert is a fixed part of the manual…. Seller hasn’t had saw more than 16 years according to his son. It’s been under his bench untouched for last 10 years. Assume he bought it when he retired and took up his hobby.
