Yes, either people that own their own lorry or contractors that don't have the machine, so they go to PForce, or CBL and hire a machine for the week and they charge £50 for delivery.

Haulier I know has told me he will pick machines up from MLES yard and charge them say, £240.00 for a move into Plymouth, but MLES will only charge the customer £165.00 in the hope the machine stays out the yard long enough to warrant the subsided haulage.

Yeah, we've had stuff off CBL where its been a 3 hr round trip for them- still £50 to drop of a 8tonner and 9 ton dumper🤣 it must stack up somewhere along the line for them🤷

A local contractor who does a lot of the work for them normally and had done the previous work along the a30 at temple

His method
Lads build the wall, then compact all the topsoil inside of the wall by walking up and down it and compacting as they go. Costain wouldn't let them do that due to H&S, so they refused the contract and I believe they bought wall builders in from way up country that had never build a wall like it so the rumour will says

Not a Cornish man building them in sight all done by a load of sikh's supposed built to the hedge building guild standards 🤣🤣🤣

The ones that have fallen down were built in the dry months of last year the subsoil/topsoil was like dust and they tried to build them like dry stone of Cotswolds and way too tall and narrow
The second we had some rain all that lovely dry fill expanded soaking in the water like a sponge and just fell to pieces
Contractor has to pic up the bill says highways england

Bit more scratting ...quite tight for access and then asked to tittivate a little drive before we left...ended up with way too much shite there, hopefully tiltrotator might help in that respect !
Sun helped us get a decent result ready for gardener :)
