Could you swap roller and turn it round so flails are essentially spinning in the other direction. On tractor mounted flails they can run in either direction. One drags you in but leaves a good finish the other doesn't so much but leaves a worse finish.
Other thing is have you looked at different flail options. There might be a more vicious version.

No, what I mean is that the motion of the big square lump that is the flail going into brambles twice it's height catches brambles and drags them on each side. these then trash the rows of saplings! If you go over it with wheels first it's much less of an issue as the wheels are 'pinning down' the lengths of brambles as the flail then goes over them. I barely have 4" clearance each side, they are tight rows.
The flail will eat whatever you put in it.

Oh right. I thought you meant like some of the pedestrian ones and tractor ones where the grab the brambles and become a giant winch until it all comes to a grinding halt.
You need a set 9f side knives off a combine.

Not enough last minute maintenance as handbrake needs adjusting, couple of rubber brake hoses are worn and a rough wheel bearing……..followed by the alternator packing up on the Disco 1.

Only just had my iveco back yesterday 2 mot later after being messed around. Handbrake issue with mine too

I had one as a courtesy car from Land Rover, it was pretty quick as a EV, But it was a loud and uncomfortable ride for a 50k car, was glad to give it back!

To be fair our big disco hasn’t the worlds most spacious interior, doors must be a ft thick! Super comfy and smooth when in it though! Leagues apart from the evokpuke

Freed the beast. The mule was having none of it, just spun the tyres then snapped the strop. So I had to go for reinforcements.
Then I got stuck back in (and almost stuck again
). Now I’m just switching rows when I get to something tricky and to hell with the tree that gets trashed as I switch. Plenty more there, I’ll call it thinning too waste

I was similarly stuck a couple of weeks ago in a much deeper ditch than I expected - totally bellied out. A jcb telehandler wouldn’t touch it so I had to dig under from the sides and drag it out sideways. Why can’t you find anything suitable in the UK?
How do you get on with the Deutz? Is she a 150.6 or 150.7? Mate had a 150.6 and it was a dead thing, nothing special for grip either. Although it was a nicer thing to drive than his M620, and nicer to drive than the Same Virtus 130 that replaced it. His kept giving bother with the front axle and 4wd pack so it had to go.
