Been a nice little job the week or so digging 5 ponds/scrapes and using all the arrisings material to make a 200 meter hedge bank for planting on- weather was a sod so a fair tidy up at the end- starting to fill nicely. Only about a meter deep on average though

Thanks, trouble is everything is totally saturated at the moment and more coming over the next few days so hoping it will hold up to it ok- crap time of year to be doing work like this
I have about 30m of hedge to build. Couldnt get near it in the summer as it kept blowing away like talcum powder. Cant even get tractor to the soil stockpile now!

I don't like building hedge banks straight from soil like I have in this job. Batter has to be reduced accordingly. Whereas like this one I did last year if you build the outside with turf and fill with soil then give it a trim at the end you can get a proper turf faced bank right from the get go and holds it shape if compacted properly. But does need turf you can strip 10m either side of bank

Yes I have done a fair bit of machine work but this is a new one on me. Guessing they don't want to see you bashing it down into the hole with a bucket! do they fold up or stay fairly rigid?
You won't need to worry about its legs sticking out, if that's what you mean.🤪

Alot of how you do it does literally depend on the owner and their tie to the horse. You can also strap it and leave the strap on. Bur don't go lifting it too high or too quickly.
