Lawn aerator. Couple of bolt holes and it’ll go onto the Sherpa universal backplate thing I made.


Then it can sit in the shed for a few years until I have a skip in the yard.

You can't beat a bit of skip diving. I got a working mag drill (with a broach) from the local metal supplier end of last year.

was onsite once and there was a great pile of water standpipes and keys chucked in one end, wtf I didn’t grab afew on my way home o have no idea!! I have some anyway but you can never had too many stop tap keys!!

Got a week installing 3 treatment plants along with all soil pipes for a massive barn we are doing.not the biggest garden so trenches everywhere along with water and lectric cables to barn and garage and tanks.all going ok but got an 85metre run of 110 pipe to take waste from tank and gutters to a nearby pit.building inspector appeared yesterday afternoon demanding this pipe is stoned in.it starts at 3 ft deep and will be well over 6 when it gets to the pit and will have zero traffic over it.pipe is in a 600 trench so will need probably well over 20 tons of stone adding massive cost to job.I’d anticipated getting it dug and back filled tomorrow and finished.builder only got a tb216 and a skip loading dumper so gonna take a good while to do.I’ve got a 9 tonner for the trenching.got a 20 person treatment tank to install today at a local hall.already getting grief about proposed mess and not stated yet.should rain too.got builder on my back too which don’t help either.times like this just piss me off and can do without the stress too.should have been an easy weeks work but will run on.no one else on site cares and just carries on.can’t wait to get back to farming at home as I’m getting snowed under with work to do.

Drop the bottom of the trench to a 450 width, save on gravel, at 6ft deep you’ll need a much wider trench anyway, also your going to need afew inspection chambers for that length of run..,

You can’t beat a proper pipe laying bucket for that kind of job. Saves a fortune in stone. Got one here on 30mm pins, 125 centres if that’s any use? Distance a killer though I’m Sussex.

Perfect bucket for land drainage and the likes, but not for a treatment tank outlet with dedicated falls and stoning up., and 6ft deep..

Also don’t have to stone it all up regs is 100mm-150mm above pipe isn’t it?

As Dave says dig wider trench then cut 9” in bottom for the pipe outlet can be on 1:100 or the bigger the pipe the Less falls required but then Ics every 30m get expensive in 160mm

Why wouldn't you use it? The tapered shape means that you use bugger all stone and the sides don't collapse. Are there some regs I'm missing?

It depends how crafty you are with the photos. Run the shingle in thick for the last 300mm before every photo then just about cover the pipe for the rest of the time. Unless of course BC want to actually dip it.

I use this all the time for drainage, think it’s 200 at the bottom, about 450 at the top to clear the tilty. Never use a straight bucket any more
