Ive always tried to stick with Polypipe but my supplier has just started stocking some other brand i'd never seen before, seems to be a reasonable thickness but when you cut it it snaps like a carrot half way through if your not careful, also had some fittings from other brands that are ridiculously tight and manhole bases from Polydrain, who are nothing to do with Polypipe as far as i can tell, with seals not fitted properly so you have to take the retaining ring off and resemble every one.
Bloody stuffs so expensive now you just want to be able to put it together as quick as possible, nothing worse than struggling about in the bottom of a trench. so much sh t out there, thought it had to conform to BS- something

I’ll only use polypipe or Dyka(JDP brand) they do a cheap and a better grade of pipe. I see no point in putting crap/cheap pipe & fittings in the ground, only going to lead to problems in the future. Prices have gone bonkers for branded pipe lately though so I do understand why folk will start looking elsewhere!

Same here won't use cheap stuff if it fails it can be stupidly expensive to put right

I never like the idea of going back to a job, much to expensive digging up patio's and drives etc.
Part of the reason i stick with the small merchant i use is the bloke on the end of the phone actually understands what I'm talking about when i place an order and it arrives on site the next day with no problems.

Same here have a good relationship with ours they always try and help us out

I won today. Bought some ground round the corner was just trying to suss out lay of the land with some drains in neighbouring houses and found this. Went got my rods and some buckets and cleared it for them. Toilet on that branch wouldn't flush anymore. Had been blocked futher down, insurance call out and theyd only cleared the main run and one side as the blockage to neighbouring property.

One neighbour offered me a few quid other one said they owe me a beer but ill just keep it in the favour bank.

Damn, the sewer jobs would have been so easy if we could lay the pipes so shallow here in Norway, in the area where I live, public sewer pipes must be at a depth of 1.6 M, top pipe to be frost free.

This is normal shallow manhole depth here.

What the picture doesn’t show you is the side panel on the jcb is needing a re spray
i just like everything spot on , keeping kit tidy means I don’t have to replace it as often to give the impression I run new kit.

Yes I agree its great in theory but its sets an almost impossible bar ....with several diggers / dumpers / truck / yard etc then home things......you can spend your life polishing possessions and have no time for what really matters

Poly drain bases are the worst things you could possibly spend money on. I broke three seals the week before last just trying to get a pipe in. Then someone stood on the outlet whilst it was being concreted in and snapped the base. But rather than telling anyone just kept back filling. I couldn't work out why the chamber wouldn't hold water

To be fair, Mrs took little one out to Aldi, in that time I got 5 vehicles washed and back inside to make them all pancakes for brunch! the days of polishing anything are long long gone!! Dumper hadn’t had a wash in 9 months, was very overdue!

Little job this morning with the micro. This is why the bobcat is right for me- shrinks right down to 710mm wide.

Trusty rusty took the micro there then acted as site dumper.

Even had a result with a bit of skip diving- can anyone guess the plan here?

You can't beat a bit of skip diving. I got a working mag drill (with a broach) from the local metal supplier end of last year.
