Steel warehouse prices

Given that I do heat loss calculations on a near daily basis I need to sit down and work out the cost benefit ratio of 40mm vs 100mm PIR sheets. I really want to do it as I will only get one chance at the roof. Walls can be done later / Adhoc / second hand / etc easy enough.
I only insulated the roof to prevent condensation - it still gets a bit after a really cold spell but nothing that bothers me.

That is sounding better. When was this may I ask? £53 per m2 less the cost of new concrete big 6 sounds more doable. More like £10K for mine. Cant imagine installation much difference in cost between the 2 on a new shed? Based on that I could make it happen.

I'm gradually getting closer to this happening. Local (but highly recommended) fabricators are dragging their feet a bit. Sat down and discussed specs in Nov 23. Got some prices sent in April 24. Roughly speaking to do both roofs and the small vert section between with 80mm insulated ADDS about £15K + vat to the job.
Big end is going to be workshop, little end is going to be purely ag fodder storage but might make a lovely little Class Q in 2035 for personal use. Seems daft to spend £6-7K ish upgrading a farm shed roof at this stage, but might be very glad of it in 10ish years time. Also keeps it all matching. General consensus is that insulated workshop is a no brainer. I'd love to do the walls as well but just haven't got the budget so will need to insulate internally in the future.
I wanted timber cladding but seems to work out at about £2k more than 0.5mm tin (for whole thing). Still not decided about that. Weathered timber will blend in and look a lot nicer in a woodland setting. Also quieter inside and less sweaty.

Overall its looking like £62K for materials Inc post hole concrete
Concrete floor will have to come later. No idea what erection costs will be, still waiting for that price!

Erection was 4K for mine(2900sqft) 5yrs ago - could double that now!
I’ve No issue with tin sheet sides, what did you get planning for?
Timber sides carry a fire risk and comes up in insurance questions.

I do want to put timber sides on one at home but also insulate it, not quite sure how to go about it yet , but seems it will be double block wall with insulation between.. but pretty sure that’s going to cost more than insulated sheets!

The drawing is for timber, but it's under PD on a 28 notice so not full planning and no one cares in these scenarios. 30mm PIR for the walls of the big end/workshop adds about £3K. That not much insulation but gives a nice finish and means I could use steel purlins inside rather than timbers. Might have to sell that Kubota dumper to @Giles to free up some ££ at this rate.

what sort of eaves height Vin -- won't get a duck in a 3.3m opening height  or much else for that matter ..... "insulated" is where a lot of the cost'll be .... no barn builders/steel frame-ers 'round you?

When checking prices make sure are definitely comparing ‘apples with apples’.
I had prices from a few manufacturers for the exact same spec building - it was interesting to see the range of prices, and the different steel profile sizes they all suggested for the ‘same’ end product. I insisted upon all-steel, yet some still included timber wall plates etc.
We have a load of manufacturers based near here - Brad Rushton (who I had mine off and was/am delighted with), Graham Heath, AC Jackson, Steelforce and Fowler and Guilbert. All of them have good reputations in the area.
