Bet you wish you got rid nowOnly using it here as we had huge pile of as dug rock and rather than get rid we crushed it.
Normally just buy in lovely hard Derbyshire limestone from the 10 quarries nearby

Didn’t realise you worked for Giles now Gaz? You seem to be able to see more in that stone than Giles can from the seat of the machine!Looks like there's been a lot of shite in with the stone you've crushed by the looks of it.
My record was sending around 1000 tonnes of capping back for re-screening. Kept me working three days when the rest of the job was shut down due to heavy rain. Was more like dredging than digging.I don’t think any of us can call ourselves Groundworkers/plant ops if we haven’t had to dig up something we have previously laid before? s**t happens to the best of us, it’s how you fix it what counts![]()
None of the limestone dug round here is frost proof, but generally it overlays shale which is. I‘ve levelled that Derbyshire limestone on one job, good stuff.Only using it here as we had huge pile of as dug rock and rather than get rid we crushed it.

I was just commenting on what i could see from the pics and the stuff in the pile looked ok but the pic where the wacker is on it looks like its got soily stuff in it. How else do you say it?Didn’t realise you worked for Giles now Gaz? You seem to be able to see more in that stone than Giles can from the seat of the machine!
Love to see some of your work mate, we all get it wrong from time to time, fair play to Giles for posting up a job that didn’t go to plan, it’s created some good discussion and hopefully people will learn from it.
There’s ways to put your point across without potentially offending the man. He’s already lost a days work from it, talk about knocking a man while he’s down!

There's a temptation when crushing to mix/let a bit of soily stuff through with it, it's why i wouldn't buy crushed in and part of the reason why a lot of folk crushing want to make it 80/100mm down in size as it hides the shitty stuff and it doesn't puddle the same when wet but it doesn't bind well either.
And year at this time of year we're all fighting the weather, it's part of the reason i don't take anyone on as it can force you into doing days at work when you'd be better off not bothering. I don't mind working a weekend to make up for a couple of days knocked on the head due to weather mid week, employees on the other hand..........
Yeah that’s the idea I was doing one load of crushed stone one of soil in the dumper just to make my day go worse! For my biggest client!I was just commenting on what i could see from the pics and the stuff in the pile looked ok but the pic where the wacker is on it looks like its got soily stuff in it. Belts, practically all Jaw crushers use belts so when (not if) they jam they don't break things. Is there a chain or belts from the pto?
I like it, I take time to read Ollie's posts cause he's spent alot of time working out pros and cons of various equipment and types of work and put himself out telling others what he thinks. One thing we aren’t short of on here is people telling others what they think. I humbly count myself among that number.I like it, I take time to read Ollie's posts cause he's spent alot of time working out pros and cons of various equipment and types of work and put himself out telling others what he thinks.
