A lot of people have taken a bath mind you, my step fathers retirement portfolio has dropped a good yearly wage he tells me. Hopefully will recover
Some crazy swings, but some great opportunitys, thing is to be very active, just letting things sit at the mo is ok if you're looking years down the line, but see some people in shares for years that have increased 100+% recently n their still £50k down....be lucky if that ever comes back

Not bad start to week,'top sliced' profit,ie left initial amount in share n cashed in profit on AVCT,£4k,sold ODX +34%,keeping AVCT going but wary of covid related shares, unlike GGP,up +45% since I started this thread, currently 80% up for me but not slicing or selling this, test results amazing n more due 30/04,plus un drilled area,Newcrest either make full offer, get in bid war wit RTZ,or continue to take up %age of havieron with GGP who end up 30% richest gold area in WA

Negative 'forward' oil price in USA today,if you could get to Huston or Oklahoma....they'll load you for 3 cents a barrel,China's buying the excess at virtual transport cost, free energy from their covid emerging economy n Saudi/ Russians have killed the shale/fracking business!

Free market?
Literally free, but next comes the shock, when it's not worth pumping or transporting?
Yom Kippur again but this time on top of biggest recession ever?
Same as the recent gold price, not low or high.no market possible?

@Lynchy for a newbie what/where would you advise to learn about shares/trading?

Quite good u tube channels,if you want long term investing,Warren buffet/Charlie Munger, spread betting UK,got some interesting videos about trading in general, lots of chat forums,LSE,advn, but also load of s**t chatted, people trying to talk up/down at other people's expense
Quite good to look at few share price charts, look at entry points to buy, spreads, difference between,buy/sell n share price, risk management, lots of people advise 1 to 2 % risk on trades to start, lol total opposite of what I did but only play with what you can afford to loose, seen lots of people done by shares such as Sirius minerals, current covid 19 shares whee people are desperate for cash
Also some 'shadow' accounts where you can practice without physically buying, bit like computer game, but all changes once it's your cash on end of buy/sell
Some how I've managed to make a little bit, main thing is to manage your capital so you can stay in the game, and lots of research, got friends who try to dip in but unless you do it yourself, and have good reasons for buying, selling it's too easy to chase rainbows n chip away at money n end up blowing it hth

I got done by Sirius @Lynchy. Bought at 9p so didn't come off as bad as some. Souls of loaded up when they were a good margin below the buyout price but I didn't have too much in there so just chalked it up to experience

Started this thread thinking people who were interested could swap possible leads, that's why I called it 'chat' only mentioned shares I'm invested in,had anyone put money in GGP I mentioned in very first post they'd have done ok
Nearly put money in Sirius, even in the last week before de listing when a 37% profit was available, certainly a sickener for folk in the area who put so much in at way high prices, but that's the thing about only playing with what you can afford
My losses?they only happen if you sell,RLD I was down as much as 70% at less than 10p sat on it three months got out with small profit, price since risen today up to 28p due to takeover possibility,I sold cos wasn't interested in cash+ share possibility
VAST resources, been in n out of sold out last time lost £1700 on trade, put what I got out into AVCT n GGP so made that back
EUA shares currently suspended since feb11th,only bought back in two days before this happened, might make some money on this,if firm taken over,or share price drops on re listing,or end up de listed n loose lot,I'm betting on first option, but not money I need so happy to wait
Currently sitting on a £9,000 deficit on one share, not a loss won't be selling it at this point n if I did would only be to put it into something I thought would make it up
Buffet, pick n choose but doubt he has any money in AIM

I can’t help but think Zoom can only get better and better - they seem to be taking over the video-conferencing world.

I thought Kingfisher might be worth a little punt now they are reopening B+Qs around the country - I reckon they’ll do well if the lockdown continues for a while!
