UK Fuels are sharks if you don’t keep an eye on them. I will never use the robbing sods again.
Ideally you want 2 fuel cards from different suppliers, and use whichever is cheapest week by week. Keeps them on their toes price-wise.

How do these fuel cards work? I always tell them to F off when phone goes and some smarmy prick says can I talk to the person in charge of fuel acquisition…..

probably fill up twice a week at local Sainsbury’s as 5p cheaper than else where so £180 a week ish

My only real reason for using them is a record of receipts! means I don't get hounded for receipts every quarter for vat

Tbh @Giles i was the same, as I don’t use that much diesel and sometimes only fill the van up once or twice a month so always told them not interested.

The one I’ve got is from fuelcardservices. Costs £24 a year iirc. Esso stations only (allthough they do various). Emailed a price Friday afternoon for the following week. If it’s cheaper on forecourts nearby I use business debit card, if not use the fuel card as there’s a filling station near one of my main suppliers.

with your level of usage Matt, that £24 a year'd not really save you a lot, if anything , particularly if you're selective about where you're buying from

First year the card was half price. They can be 5ppl or more cheaper than the local pump prices so only have to fill up 6 times a year to cover the card charge (if my maths are correct )
