Don't complain - suggest what's better
I saw a Chinese floating excavator on a lowloader today. Nice niche market if you have the right contacts. Think I would prefer a standard top part with Chinese undercarriage rather than completely Chinese, but if it works I guess it is okay. It’s not likely to have a hard life.

Look at the ground and the environment! Its certainly not the UK so H & S is out the window straight away as for what they are using, if its been on site for past six months or been brought in for when that ice melts ( thats a boat your man is stood in ) then its still probably the cheaper option.

Unfortunately I was past before I registered the name on the boom. It was down on the South Coast. Shame he isn't on here. Would like to see more pictures and see what he is up to. I always like niche bits of kit.

Looks like mud, not ice to me. That rig as got to be north of £200k. A hydraulic power pack on an amphibious vehicle and a man held post driver would put those posts in easily, and straight
I'm just very surprised to see such a blatently dangerous practice being used in promitional material, especially in a country like Germany. One lapse in concentration and matey boy is squished.

Especially after spending all that money surely they could have added a knocker
Seen a video of a post knocker that also had a grab on it for positioning posts not sure if it was on here or not but looked a decent bit of kit

When I commented on it being bad practise and not something I’d expect to see on UK advertising literature, I was told advertising literature is for the whole world, not just the UK. ( I assumed there was also an upturned finger with the words, rotate under it, not that I actually saw it)
Several other howlers I’ve seen from big players that makes one go. Wtf!
Quite apart from the fact that a couple of years ago ( many sites even today) it was normal practice. Fatalities were caused by disengagement of poorly attached bucket / attachments, rather than someone slipping off side of something that they were pushing into the ground.
Not that I condone such practice today just that I admit to having done it

I have arrived late to this and am disgusted with the attitudes and reasoning used on this thread.
Realistically can you see a post being very hard to drive into ground that said machine is needed to traverse? can you see it snagging? or snapping because the ground is to hard?
Plenty of completely unnecessary kit gets spec'd and money wasted on jobs in the UK in the name of H&S....
As said before. if your not there you can't/shouldn't comment too much. Perspective is tricky IMHO in that photo too.
Now piss off with your zero reversing policys and green beacons.
My engcon lands at the end of the month BTW
