Downstream is wrong way its round corner of house
Or anywhere on the line that's accessible. As long as you can rod down to the main line and then from manhole to that point it should pass with no issues.
Although comes down to who is passing it

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
I've done this for surface water but not sure what the regs are for foul to just use the plastic 450mm risers. When done for foul have used various concrete risers on top of plastic basis.

Some of these concrete sections are surprisingly cheap for what they are.
thanks for that link ... been wanting some of those for a while ... struggling locally on sizes though

I have no idea about the company just the first website that came up as an example.
It's one of those things you have to call them the right thing or computer says no.
I spent ages ringing round civils merchants looking for them until someone said they are 'house inspection chambers' then they all suddenly had them in stock. Noone can cope with just a description.

Chop a Y in, add a small inspection chamber within 12 meters of it, will gain you some height so you can use smaller one if your on the limit.
If it’s super sleeve clay pipework I’d get some fittings to match rather than the crappy screw up rubber connectors.

been to one of their yards in Hereford when I was working with Alex, at his lake job .... will give them a try Monday, after I've refreshed my memory as to what sizes I couldn't find last time I was searching  Oddly enough was only discussing the job with Pam this afternoon :)

The rubber connectors can leave a lip between the clay and the plastic but if you cut a slither of 4 inch plastic and put it around the outside of the plastic pipe it is enough to make the inverts perfectly flush and will also still seal

You cut the slither lengthways so it slots over?

Do any of you lot use the recycled 10mm for pvc drainage bedding? Its a lot more angular and sharper than gravel but cheap. They have a good recycling place close to me fp mcann send all theyre rejects there for crushing

No cut a section of plastic pipe across the diameter about an inch wide then cut across its diameter . You will have a piece that you can wrap tightly to the underside of your pipe where it goes into the rubber ac connector . The inverts will be flush with each other .

No but I’d like to see it . Sounds like a great idea for recycled plastic . Apparently wavin coil pipe is made out of recycled batteries .

I use these where I can

They work nicely with hep or super sleeve but the clay pipes I usually end up connecting to are older ones and they are roughly 6 inch externally for a 4 inch pipe

Probably Dave I’ve never heard of the called anything other than old clay pipes .
That’s a lot of couplers to carry in the van ! It is the best way to go though if you can have them to hand or you can get them quickly . The band seal couplers are pretty good if you take your time to line them up but you definitely won’t beat a dedicated coupler like that .
I think I will keep a note of the different sizes of clay pipes I come across and see if any are more common . Then I could keep a couple of these on the van .

on the subject of drainage .. does anyone know if it's possible to get a connector that can be bonded inside a 110 upstand to give it a collar to drop an extension into? ... want to raise the vent in our septic and some pr*ck's cut it off flush with the concrete top covering 🤬 ... 's what I want the conc. rectangular rings for too, to raise the inspection/access cover 'bout 400mm ... want to raise the G/L on top of/around it .... has a habit of getting flooded in heavy rain/wet conditions ... in a low spot and have bunded around it, but raising all the G/L 'll hopefully cure it , especially if the raiser gets a good rendering
