was -8C this morning when I went out and looked .. probably less overnight ... was certainly white first thing, 'til the yeller fing appeared, burnt it off and made it all foggy :(

and everything's still pretty solid ... still snow on the floor where the sun doesn't get to (and some where it does!) ..... hanging about too much for my liking - usually waiting for more when it does that :(

Still a thin covering of snow on the North facing slopes here, the sun has melted it off the South facing ones. The weather has been great to say it's Winter. Cold, but clear blue skies and sun every day. Have been able to work outside, even get around the fields with sinking too far, If every Winter was like this i'd be happier.

Thanks for the pic, don't fall off the edge by your planters there! Veg plots always look desolate in Winter, just sprouts, carrots and a beetroot left outside in mine. It's handy to use it as an outside larder, it keeps things fresh until we need them. Homegrown carrots are much better than supermarket ones, crisp and tasty.

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: .. only do it once ...... especially if you do it backwards ... 'd be a hard stop at the bottom  ........ not fell off there in 12 years though :) common sense and self preservation are both fully functional in this neck of the woods ;)(y)

Tuesday on the Express website they were predicting 10” of snow blanketing the whole country, now they’re predicting a snow bomb that’ll drop 2” per hour on us. All these terms like snow bomb, polar vortex, beast from the east/west/north/south/Narnia etc. all seem to be new terms for light frost, cos that’s all we seem to get round here.

It's called weather....but I guess the headlines don't read so well "weather will be normal for January" and cold weather doesn't fit the global warming theory's quite so well...

Pam has roses that haven't stopped flowering yet :oops: unreal
Don't they look a bit bedraggled by the wind or are they protected?
I know we have a way to go yet, but I don't think it's been a bad Winter so far, we've had a good mix of everything and today it's beautiful again.

yeh, just about shot now, but had been doing pretty well until recently ... that cold snap didn't help 'em and can recall discussing with her the fact that they were still even there !

I'm ashamed to admit I had thermals on today 🤦
been lovely again here ...... but the wind was cruel :( - T shirt, polo shirt, hoody and fleece, with a neck tube thingy to keep the drafts out ... not warm at all ... but glorious :giggle:
'nother nice sky to finish off the day, but not as spectacular as last night's

People were out mowing their lawns tonight .....spring is sprung the grass is riz
I must confess to considering it, this afternoon, after I'd spread all the ****in' mole hills about the place. Boots were dry, as was the grass, but started off extremely white here, first thing ... wouldn't want to kill it all ... much as I hate having to mow it, having to regrow it'd be an even bigger PITA

don't think the grass has stopped 'rizzing' all Winter Kev
