Them meaters are good 👌 did a rib the other week hassle free perfection 😁
I've got one and it is good for some stuff, but the instructions said not to get it in the flames of a BBQ. Looking at your pictures there were plenty of flames. Wondered if it actually caused it any harm. The black bit is some kind of plastic and I was worried it would melt.
Edit, just seen the later post from Giles

Weather buggering jobs up now, I ain’t being a prat and laying concrete onto -5 ground, going to take a good few days next week to thaw out, hopefully long range forecast is accurate and we see the predicted 9degrees on Monday!

I’ve got this portable one, has batteries and you put tiny cup of charcoal in middle fan blows it to heat it up. Works a treat and cooks quick
What make? I'm looking for a table top small BBQ. Had looked at the Cobb ones, but they seemed over priced. I like the idea of the battery fan.

This is the proper one Lotus Grill SMOKELESS BBQ With Turbo Fan for Fast Heat in Blazing Red (Large) https://amzn.eu/d/cPqfTCd

But mine is an Aldi middle isle reduction think I paid £30 as I had wanted a lotus but then saw Aldi one and was like yeah that’ll do.

I normally use my ink bird setup but it needs power and controls airflow into bottom vent, links to phone for full control has 2 meat probes and an ambient probe

But serious bbq territory £200 for controller I use it for my 20 hrs brisket smoker runs

That’s normal every year up here . I’m always trying to keep a couple of jobs back that don’t need concrete or mortar to keep us going but this year it’s not worked out . We are building a base for an oak structure something like a bandstand . The forecast is freezing as far ahead as I can see at the moment so it doesn’t look like it’ll get done this side off the new year

You are a bit more of a serious BBQer than me (or just like gadgets). I thought £200 on the whole BBQ setup was a bit steep.

Couldn't find any takers for the half load so sent the rest of the delivery over to Wales 😃

Local farmers market had to stand down the internationally known local company "Snow business " as some other bugger beat them to it

Wasn't quite so good for the farm shop that had their visit from the reindeer cancelled ........

.....due to snow ❄
