I’ve hired a similar one from Cholwills. 2540? I’m similar weight and had no problem moving it around on its wheels on good ground surface.

I think 2540, 2550 and 2560 are all the same except width of plate. There's almost no difference in price between the 50 and 60. Less compaction Vs coverage I guess

Well thinking the DPU 2560. If he can do a dpu 70/100 at the same price then I'll have one of those instead

They do work fine IME on both the belle and the Wacker. Putting them on the wheels is fine. Bit of a catapult effect putting them back on the plate though

Yeah the wheels are pointless I’m 150kg and struggle to get enough weight on them to keep them on the wheels and actually move them

I have the exact same experience with the belle

Shame to hear that about Fairport because certainly the price is appealing. £2600 Vs £4000 for equivalent Wacker. Local Wacker dealer has a dpu2550 available. Looking at the wheels they have I can't see how that's not going to be the same issue as the Belle? I only weigh 90kg the Wacker weighs 170kg and the wheels are the pivot- simple physics tells me that's going to be able pain in the arse!??

It's all about the pivot point once the bell is on its wheels most of the weight is still below the wheels and you have to keep pressing on the handle, with the wacker and the wheels on the back edge of the plate once it's over (which takes standing on the little step and pulling on the handle) most of the weight is on your side of the wheels and you actually have to hold the handle up

New AGM battery and away she went.
Old one was showing 8-9Volts so must have shaken some cells lose?
Hyd filter seal twisted (my fault) and made a mess.
Believe it or not this was all steam cleaned and degreased a couple weeks ago. Wackers have a hard life.
Electric start is nice to have

Couldn't really justify best part of £4k on a new diesel Wacker that id still find too small on some stuff so have ordered the biggest forward plate that Wacker do (bps2050) and with the money saved will keep an eye out for either another a Dpu 70/100 or pedestrian roller to compliment it. Figured the 2 machines will be more versatile than just one.

No, but thanks for ringing anyway the other day. The smaller the plates get the less the savings and quite keen to keep using local Wacker dealer- never know when I might need them now I have the Wacker digger too
