Ever ready plant hire run Fairport. They seem to be made sturdy enough but the finish details aren't great. Things like the plate being crisply folded plate rather than a casting with softened angles on the edges meant they left lines in tarmac. I also seem to remember a bit of studding being welded to the frame instead of casting with a thread on it like you would expect to find on a Wacker or bomag, it's something little but I always associate it with Chinese engineering.
FTH have bartell Wackers and trench compactors which did always seem to have an incredible amount of steel in them. And double HAVS on them with the traditional rubbers at the base of the handle but a second set at the top of the handle.
