Anyone else ever use the bucket rest, I rarely do to get as much weight back on the trailer as poss Even with the digger right back against the tail gate there is still more nose weight than id like- these ifor 1054s have their axles a bit further back then a bateson plant trailer and it is a bit of problem sometimes..

Get a smaller digger.
The wheels are a long way back aren’t they. Part of why they tow nice. Not much difference between the LM166 and the GD1054 from hitch to front axle

I load with the blade behind (as close to the tailgate as possible) and always use the bucket rest - it’s pretty heavy on the hitch but tows great tbh. That’s with my tb230, and did the same with the E27.
Surprised at that because when Ive tried it with the blade behind it feel even worse because the whole machine then has to shunt forwards so the tailgate can shut with the blade🤔

Talking of trailers. I was very chuffed to make a profit on my LM166 at the local auction 9 weeks ago (and I kept the sides/mesh/tarp/ramps). Anyway oddly the one I sold has had a new bed (4 sheets of buffalo board) and been advertised locally for £150 more than it cost them to buy it ..
Anyhow, it’s back in the auction tomorrow 🤨. Will be keen to see what it makes second time around. I think I must have got very lucky that day.

You have had your moneys worth out of that then !
Yep sure have, mind you whilst I kept on top of tyres with 3 or 4 set so far, I have neglected the brakes
After sitting idle for a few months when I used it a few weeks ago they worked but they were binding badly.
So have got a box of brake service stuff to be fitted very soon. Had to use bolt croppers on the Bowden Cables 🤣
