that's the one ... me mate's place at the other end with the truck parked in the corner of his garage ..... there was a low wall all along in front of the houses ... road closed 'til monday apparently and they're routing it all along the lane above us ... not wide enough for two trucks to pass in many places along its length . ... chaos along there ....
me mate's had the wall between him and his garage rebuilt 3 or 4 times courtesy of insurers and has had a few on their sides up against the front of his house .... never had anything in through the window/wall though. The distance between house and road is pretty small. I'll bet the traffic noise would get on your goat when its busy.
Being on a corner like that, has he been hit before?
yeh that's in a state ..... Steve lives at the other end of the row (where the truck came to rest - in his garage BTLs) ... the demo job belongs to his friend who lives in london and Steve care takes it for him in the week ... bet it was an interesting phone call.I'd say this time he's gonna be out of there for a bit that's a demo job..if insurance get big lads on it
Interesting collision/incident. So what was the cause?
Nasty! Horrible sensation , had it once in a mini that was bad enough...One of the posts on Facebook was a comment from drivers family member saying brakes had failed on wagon

Looks like the white van may have stopped beside the road to make a delivery perhaps?
Side-swipped by the wagon as he came too fast into the narrow bends with double white line system.
Wagon brakes hard and the insecure load on the flat bed trailer came off![]()
aye ..... had the brakes give out on me Demag 30 tonner once going down into a nasty hollow.... but with an equally steep grade coming out the other side ... was a pretty hairy couple of minutesNasty! Horrible sensation , had it once in a mini that was bad enough...![]()
pretty sure the van is usually parked in their parking area, where it's sat Dave .... the house is empty most the time ... weekend Londoners ...Interesting collision/incident. So what was the cause?

looks like the bolsters did the score down the side of the van and the truck could well have been up on it's N/S wheels, battling to make it around the corner, when the front axle dropped into the 'pit' in front of the house .... think the visible bolsters are from the O/side, as the N/S ones'd be under the timberLooking at the pictures here www.herefordtimes.com/news/19303824.updates-pictures-herefordshire-road-shut-lorry-crashes-house/

It looks like the truck had been on its side and hit the corner of the house too have that much damage on the top of the cab, but not so much on the grill below. Maybe the impact righted it again and that`s where its come to rest

This photo, seems to show the pins off the trailer, uniformly placed as if the trailer was on its side, rather than snapped off?

Local knowledge often helps explain thing Grapretty sure the van is usually parked in their parking area, where it's sat Dave .... the house is empty most the time ... weekend Londoners ...
see the truck deffo ended up in Steve's garage .. he'll be mega PO-ed, if his mk1 was in its usual spot
I'd guess the cab damage'd be caused by the N/S wheel dropping into the 2+ft drop in front of the house and presenting the upper structure of the cab to the wall first.
Excessive speed'd be my best guess ..... those bends come up mighty quick after some decent straights and long right hander tightening into the narrows and those couple of bends ..... it's a fave spot for it .. get a few a year there, just happens this is a BIG un

Wonder what caused it to go over onto its side![]()
